Barrel Man

Alright, so you're in Levant and you've heard whispers of a guy who hangs out in barrels? That's our friend, the 'Barrel Man'. He's tucked away in the northwestern part of the slums. To find him, just head right when you enter the slums and follow the main alleyway west. Keep your eyes peeled for barrels – he's a bit shy and only pops his head out when you get close!

When you finally spot him, go ahead and chat him up. Make sure you pick the dialogue option that goes something like, “Do you… need anything?” That's the magic phrase to kick off his little fetch quest.

He's going to ask you to bring him a few specific things:

• Palladium Scrap
• Gaberry Jam
• Alpha Jerky
• Toast
• Mana Stone
• Grilled Mushroom

Now, don't panic! Most of these are pretty common. You can often buy the food items like Alpha Jerky, Gaberry Jam, Toast, and Grilled Mushrooms from shopkeepers, chefs, or even some of those traveling Soroborean Merchants you see around. Palladium Scraps can sometimes be snagged from blacksmiths or Soroborean Merchants, but your best bet is usually to mine ore deposits out in the world – caves are usually packed with them. For a Mana Stone, the easiest way is to head to Tuan the Alchemist in Levant; he always has a few for sale.

If you're feeling crafty, you can also make some of the food items yourself:

• Gaberry Jam: You'll need four Gaberries (just loot them from shrubs) and a cooking pot.
• Alpha Jerky: This one needs two Raw Alpha Meat, two Salt, and a cooking pot. Salt is everywhere, and Raw Alpha Meat comes from any alpha creature you hunt – think Alpha Coralhorns, Tuanosaurs, or even Manticores.
• Toast: Grab a Bread (you can buy it from chefs or find it in random loot) and use a campfire.
• Grilled Mushroom: You'll need a Common Mushroom (loot them, buy them from chefs, or find them in random loot) and a campfire.

Once you've gathered everything on his list, head back to Barrel Man. Hand over all the goods, and he'll give you your reward: the Mysterious Chakram. It's got decent physical and fire damage, plus some good impact, but honestly, it's more of a fun novelty item. If you're looking for a real challenge, give it a whirl in combat, but don't expect it to be your endgame weapon.
