Purifier: Monsoon

Speak with Mofat in Monsoon to initiate the quest.

If you did not acquire the quest in Monsoon, travel south from Monsoon along the Pilgrim road. Look for a campfire and a deceased missionary near a Pilgrim pillar. Interact with the missionary's body.

Return to Mofat in Monsoon and speak with him about your findings.

Speak with Alemmon, the Philosopher Trainer, located in the north-east of Monsoon. Head east from Mofat, then north along the main path towards Elatt's Temple. Just before the temple archway, turn east, cross the wooden bridge, and go up the stairs to find Alemmon.

Alemmon will inform you that the bandits are in Dead Roots, a dungeon west of the missionary's location. The dungeon is marked as 'Huge Tree' on the Hallowed Marsh map. The top entrance is faster.

From the Pilgrim road pillar near the campfire, head west and follow the path through entwined trees, ascending a hill. Encounter bandits at the top, then turn west towards the 'Huge Tree' entrance.

Enter Dead Roots. Head north over the first bridge and down wooden stairs. Behind bushes to the west, you will find a hostile Immaculate. Defeat it using reach weapons, bows, or magic to kite it. Avoid leaving the room to prevent pulling Ice Witches or Bandits.

Loot the room: a junk pile, a soldier's corpse with random loot, a luxury tent, and the first quest note on a table. Use the tent for recovery if needed.

Head south down the dungeon. After several stairs and bandit fights, find the second note on a table next to two large metal cages.

Continue downward to the room below. The third note is on a table at the bottom of the stairs.

From the third note's location, continue west into the main room. Here you will find the Marsh Captain. Use the table where you found the third note to create a barrier for stamina recovery if needed. Defeat the Marsh Captain.

After defeating the Marsh Captain, loot the chest to your right on the wooden bridge. Also, loot the worker's corpse in the room where the captain was found.
