Cool As Ice

You'll start by dropping down a shaft. Go as low as you can, then grab the ledge on your left and roll through the passage. Keep descending, taking out any enemies you encounter, and then head through the door on your right.

Continue heading right, blasting those flying enemies. You'll find some more spawning enemies here; grab some supplies if you're low on health or missiles, otherwise, just jump over them. Keep moving right, hopping across platforms while dealing with some flaming enemies. As you continue right, you'll encounter more flying enemies. Take them out and grab the missile tank waiting for you up ahead.

Now, head back to the shaft you came from. Go right until you reach the closest save room on your map, then continue right into the next room.

In this new area, head right. You'll see a ledge above you; grab onto it and pull yourself up. Now, carefully jump across the platforms to your right, making your way over the wall. Drop down the other side, and be cautious of the spitting enemy – time your jump to avoid its projectiles. Keep going right and jump up the next set of platforms on your right, working your way over another wall. Watch out for another spitter as you drop down on the other side. Continue right through the door ahead; this leads you to a shaft.

Climb up this shaft, taking out a couple of enemies and avoiding a beetle. Once you reach the top, enter the first door on your left.

This next part requires some careful platforming. You'll need to jump across a series of platforms to cross an acid pit. Tip: It's common to miss these jumps and end up grabbing the platforms as you fall instead of landing on them, so be prepared for that! Once you make it across, take the door on the other side.

You're almost there! Jump to the nearby ledge and shoot open the container. Inside, you'll find the Ice Beam!
