BOSS: Alien Bee

Struggling with the Alien Bee boss in Metroid: Zero Mission? This guide breaks down its phases, weaknesses, and the best strategy to take it down and grab the Super Missile Tank.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weak Point: Stinger
• Primary Weapon: Missiles

Phases:

1. Phase 1 (Purple): The Alien Bee starts as purple. You need to hit its stinger with about 15 missiles. It will fly around the arena, and you'll need to chase it down.
2. Phase 2 (Yellow): After about 15 missiles, the boss turns yellow. Now, it will start firing shots from its stinger while chasing you. Keep dodging and hitting its stinger with missiles. Stay in ball form when it's off-screen or you're not actively chasing it to avoid damage.
3. Phase 3 (Red): With around 15 more missiles, the boss turns red and becomes very weak. You'll only need about 5 more missiles to break off its stinger and defeat it.

Strategy:

• When the fight starts, head left past about five eggs.
• Roll into a ball and wait for the boss to fly over you.
• As soon as it passes, stand up and run after it, firing missiles at its stinger. Keep this up until it flies away.
• Next, roll into a ball on the right side of the room and hide near the yellow plants. The boss should dive near you and start flying left.
• Run after it again, shooting its stinger with missiles just like before.
• Once it turns red, focus on hitting the stinger with about 5 missiles to break it off.
• After the fight, walk left as the bee crashes into the wall.
• Grab the Super Missile Tank that appears inside.
