Default Ending

This is the default ending for Metro 2033. You will receive this ending if you primarily focus on combat and exploration is minimal throughout the game. It can also be obtained if you fail to knock the guidance system off the tower at the very end of Metro 2033, even if you have met the conditions for the Enlightened ending.

Enlightened Ending

To unlock this ending in Metro 2033, you must make as many moral choices as possible during your playthrough. Moral choices are indicated by a flash and a buzz accompanied by whispering. Conversely, immoral choices are signaled by a grayed-out screen followed by an ominous sound. Refer to the section on Moral Points for more details.
