Alright, let's talk about the Automatic Shotgun, which you'll know as the Shambler in the Redux version of Metro 2033. It's a solid choice, especially when you get your hands on the Bayonet version. It'll cost you about 120 bullets, or 150 if you want that Bayonet attached right away. If you're trading it in, you'll get 107, or 133 with the Bayonet.

This gun is semi-automatic and holds 6 shells. Now, the reloading is a bit unique because of how the magazine is structured. Sometimes that sixth slot isn't immediately available, depending on how many shells are already in there and how many you've fired. It's not a huge deal, but it's something to keep in mind when you're in a pinch.

You've got your standard left-click to fire, of course. But don't forget about the right-click! A quick tap does a melee attack, and holding it down unleashes a powerful overhead smash. If you've got the Bayonet variant, right-click will do a quick stab, and holding it down performs a downward stab. This Bayonet is pretty handy – it hits almost as hard as the Combat Knife but with more reach, and you usually won't have to crouch to hit those low-crawling enemies.

As for reloading, a quick tap of [R] will top off one shell if you've got 0 or 1 loaded. If you've got 0 to 3 shells loaded, [R] will reload up to 5. If you've already got 4 or more shells in there, [R] will reload up to 6. Holding down [R] will just do a full reload, no matter what.

You can find this shotgun in a bunch of places:

• You might snag it early on from Bourbon's pack in the Dry area.
• Look for it in the box maze at Market Station, especially on a bandit.
• It's often found on enemies in the Frontline area.
• You can find a Bayonet version behind Nazi lines on the Frontline too.
• Check the supply room at the start of Trolley Combat.
• It's also lootable from enemies in the Defense level.
• You can find it as loot in the Child level.
• Look for a Bayonet version at Hole Station.
• It's available as loot and from enemies in the Outpost.
• You'll find it as loot and from enemies in Black Station.
• A Bayonet version can be found at Sparta Base.
• You can also find it in the Library, Depository, and Polis Station (often a Bayonet version there).

When it's idle, you'll see your character cleaning the barrel, which is a nice little touch.
