Act Two: Solid Sun

Objectives:

  • Rescue Naomi Hunter.

Mission Briefing:

  1. During the prologue, take control of MK.II by pressing Square and explore the aircraft.
  2. Pick up the battery near the helicopter and a camera by Sunny's desk on the lower deck.
  3. Climb the stairs to find instant noodles and a new song for your iPod.

Cove Valley Village:

  1. To simply reach the exit, crawl down the path and hug the west wall, avoiding PMCs.
  2. To rescue captured rebels: Lie prone on the cliff edge and aim your Mk2 at the nearest soldier walking on the east side of the building.
  3. Knock him out with a tranquilizer dart and wait for a buddy to investigate. Knock him out as well.
  4. Repeat this strategy two more times, totaling four soldiers, before taking out the two guarding the POWs.
  5. Take out the final PMC hiding in the building in front of you near the fence. The rebels need to see you fighting PMCs to become allies.
  6. Run around and pick up items dropped by soldiers and stored in buildings, including the South American costume in the building to the south.
  7. The rebels will pick up weapons and head for the power station battle. Lend them a hand if you want to benefit from their presence.
  8. If not interested in the skirmish, continue crawling along the sides, climbing rock walls, and knocking out PMCs.
  9. Near the power station entrance, crawl up a hill with a log at the top and hide.
  10. Wait for PMCs to shout about company as rebels arrive. Use the log as cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) and wait for PMCs to move away from the exit.
  11. Use your Solid Eye (a device that displays information on your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), including enemy positions) to locate enemy positions and knock them out with a quick headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) if they get too close.
  12. If you did not rescue the POWs, give the rebels items to resolve their suspicion.
