Learn the weaknesses and stats of the Snowman and Icicle monsters in Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster. Get tips for surviving the Snow Plains and Snow Cavern.
Alright, so you're heading into the Snow Plains and maybe the Snow Cavern? You're going to run into a couple of new enemies: the Snowman and the Icicle. They might seem a bit tougher than what you've faced before, but don't sweat it! They usually show up in groups of three or four, which can feel overwhelming, but they both share a pretty big weakness: Fire. Seriously, if you've got a decent Fire spell or some strong weapons, you'll make short work of them.
A quick heads-up: Minwu isn't going to be fighting alongside you anymore. This means you'll need to pick up the slack. Make sure your Cure spells are leveled up a bit (around Level 3 or 4 should do) and stock up on Potions and Phoenix Downs. It's always better to be overprepared when you're venturing into new territory.
Encounter Details

The Snow Cavern
If you're looking for the Snow Cavern itself, it's way out east from where you first enter the Snow Plains. Like, *really* far east. If you get lost (it happens to the best of us!), just remember you can bring up the World Map by holding the [B] button and pressing [Select].
PSP/Switch Note: On these versions, you'll hold [O] (Cancel) and [Select] to see the World Map. You'll still need that RING item, though!
Special Notes: Snowcraft Mini Game
Keep an eye out, because the Snowcraft Mini Game can be found around here. It's a bit of a hidden gem! If you want to try it, hold down the [A] button and press the [B] button exactly 22 times. This unlocks a memory-style minigame where you can snag some cool treasures and items that'll help you out in the main game. If you've somehow gotten your Toad spell up to Level 16 (which is pretty advanced for this point!), you'll play the same game, but all the tiles will be changed to toad heads. Pretty wild!
PSP/Switch Note: Remember, on these versions, you'll be using the [X] and [O] buttons instead of [A] and [B]. Just make sure your controls are set up how you like them!
