Dreadnought Navigation & Strategy:
Captains can be encountered by talking to soldiers on the Dreadnought. While powerful, these encounters primarily drain resources. Undead monsters coexist with regular enemies on board.
Many enemies on the Dreadnought can inflict permanent status effects. Ensure your Esuna spell is sufficiently leveled, or be prepared to use it outside of battle.
Hilda must be rescued before the Dreadnought can be destroyed.
Dreadnought 1F: Show the guard your PASS to avoid a fight. Asking about the WILD ROSE initiates a fight with a Captain. Head east to the stairway.
Dreadnought 2F: From the entrance, go to the bottom right and pass through the wall to find a Monster-in-a-Box containing the SLEEP BLADE. Return to the stairs.
Dreadnought 1F (Revisited): Take the north stairs, head west for 600 GIL. Skip Monster Rooms. Head east, south, then east again to the northeast corner and enter the next area.
Dreadnought 2F (Revisited): Head south, then east for a POTION and HI-POTION. Backtrack, take the western path twice for the DARK BOW. Backtrack, take the south path, then west for the THIEF'S GLOVES. Open the door and talk to Cid to activate the escape. Return to the previous floor.
Dreadnought 1F (Third Visit): Head south to the path split, then south again to another stairway.
Dreadnought 3F: Traverse the floor to reach the next area.
Dreadnought 4F: The main path leads to stairs. In the northeast, four chests are present. The second from the right contains the ICE SHIELD and triggers a fight with Red Soul (#114).
Red Soul (#114) Stats: Rk 5, HP 750, MP 0, ATK 100, DEF 60, Gil 300-600. Weakness: None. Resistance: None. Absorbs: None.
Treasures from Red Soul: Giant's Helm, Giant's Gloves.
Strategy vs. Hill Gigas (Note: Source text seems to conflate Red Soul with Hill Gigas): The Hill Gigas hits hard and can KO the party quickly. Use Blink and Protect. Employ your strongest spells and attacks as it has no inherent weaknesses.
