This guide covers the World of Darkness region in Dragon Quest VIII, detailing treasure locations, enemy encounters, and how to reach this area.

Getting to the Dark World: Start by heading West from Empycchu until you reach the Archway at the center of the map. Follow the shadow of a bird flying around this area across the entire map. The shadow will eventually stop in the north-west corner of the map, forming a portal to the World of Darkness.

World of Darkness Treasures:

1. Mini Medal #92: Head north-east toward the wall. A chest is hidden behind a log.
2. Mini Medal #93: Travel south-east to the lake. Walk to the east side of the lake to find a chest.
3. Devil's Tail: Head north toward the beach and follow the path down to where your ship originally docked. Turn right immediately upon reaching the beach to find a chest.
4. Iron Headgear: Walk across the beach to the western side. Look for a chest next to a tree.
5. Mini Medal #94: Go back up the ramp and travel to the far north-east corner of the map along the coast. A chest can be found here.
6. Seed of Agility: Locate a chest on the south side of Dark Empycchu by following the town's border.

After collecting the Seed of Agility, enter Dark Empycchu to trigger a scene with the natives.
