Hey there! So, you've made it to the Royal Chapel in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's a pretty unique spot, right? Feels a bit out of place in Dracula's castle, with all its stained glass and pews, almost like a real cathedral. This is actually your sixth major stop, and it's crucial for getting the first ending of the game. You'll enter from the Alchemy Laboratory after grabbing the Jewel of Open from the Long Library. From here, you can head towards the Castle Keep, and eventually, the path to the true ending. There's also a route to the Colosseum, but you won't get far there until you find another way in through Olrox's Quarters. Oh, and keep in mind, the Reverse Castle version of this place is called the Anti-Chapel. The chapel itself is mostly vertical, with tall bell towers and long stairways. Some of the halls here are pretty important for reaching the boss. You'll also find a Confessional Room. If you go in, a ghostly priest might give you Grape Juice (or wine in the Japanese version), hurt you, or just bless himself. It's random, but watch out: if he's wearing a gray robe with red eyes and purple skin, he's about to attack! Sometimes, Alucard can take the priest's place, and a confessor will either confess or attack you, but you won't get any items from her. During your travels here, after you defeat the Hippogryph, you'll have your third encounter with Maria. She'll comment on your strength and then ask if you know Richter Belmont. She's been searching for him and asks you to let her know if you see him. Alucard agrees, and she'll thank him, noting he's a gentleman.
