Navigate the treacherous caverns of Castlevania, overcoming enemies like Bones, Balloon Pods, Imps, Nova Skeletons, Doppleganger40, and the Cave Troll.

This section covers enemies and items found in the underground caverns and a specific boss fight. You'll encounter Rock Knights, Blue Venus weeds, Balloon Pods, Jack O’ Bones, Nova Skeletons, and Doppleganger40. Key items include an Opal, Life Max Ups, a diamond, a heart max up, meal tickets, and the Dark Blade. A peculiar interaction involves respawning peanuts that can be used as a healing item.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
From the red door, continue left into the underground caverns. Clear Rock Knights and Blue Venus weeds.
  2. 2
Use wolf form to swim and gain water coverage at the top of the rooms. Continue left and drop down the floor.
  3. 3
Navigate the vertical room with Balloon Pods. Hug the right side when dropping to slip past them without popping.
  4. 4
About halfway down, enter the entrance on the right for a detour. Collect the Opal at the dead-end, then return to the main path.
  5. 5
Continue dropping down the vertical room. In the next room, defeat the Jack O’ Bones and Nova Skeleton.
  6. 6
To their right, enter the first room for a Life Max Up. Destroy the wall on the right to find a room with a diamond.
  7. 7
Return to the Jack O’ Bones and Nova Skeleton room. Go left into a new section, a vertical room parallel to the previous one.
  8. 8
Save your game on the left. Choose to go up or down. Head up the vertical room.
  9. 9
When you reach a point where stairs end, take the path on the left. This area previously led to the Succubus boss.
  10. 10
In the first room, clear skeletons and continue left. The next room has another skeleton and a pot with a Heart Max Up.
  11. 11
The following room contains five pots with meal tickets. Continue to a dead end. The room on the right has a save point. The room on the left contains peanuts.
  12. 12
To use the peanuts, equip them like a weapon or usable item. Press UP on the D-pad to consume them for healing.
  13. 13
Leave this section and return to where the stairs ended. Ascend the vertical room using Gravity Jump, Bat, or Mist form.
  14. 14
You will land back in the caverns proper. Save on the left. Ascend towards the save room and head left for a battle with Doppleganger40.
  15. 15
Doppleganger40 Fight: This is an improved version of the earlier fight. He can poison you with his attacks and the Rebound Stone. He may also use bat form charges and occasional gravity jumps. Use the Gas Cloud form to damage him.
  16. 16
After defeating Doppleganger40, you will receive a Life Max Up.
  17. 17
Proceed left through the next room. A zircon is on the platform above. Fly over the drop-off ahead.
  18. 18
Fly into the drop-off to enter a section with many Octopi. Avoid them using Mist form.
  19. 19
On the right side of the Octopi room, collect the Dark Blade.
  20. 20
Return to the entrance of the Doppleganger40 boss room. The ceiling on the right corner of the room you entered from is breakable.
  21. 21
In the room ahead, you will encounter more Blue Venus Weeds. This is a water section; get map coverage.
Tips
  • When navigating the Balloon Pods, hugging the right side while dropping allows you to slip past without popping them.
  • The peanuts found in the room near the Succubus's former location can be equipped and used as a healing item by pressing UP on the D-pad.
  • During the Doppleganger40 fight, the Gas Cloud form is effective for dealing damage.
  • In the room with numerous Octopi, it's advisable to avoid them using the Mist form to conserve HP and time.
