Learn how to defeat the Armor Lord and Medusa Heads in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This guide covers strategies, item locations, and progression through the Outer Wall.

After leaving the Long Library, backtrack down the tower towards the Marble Gallery entrance. Continue down the path, and you'll encounter an Armor Lord on the left. Proceed further down to the left, where a steel grate is located. The torch nearby holds the Knife sub-weapon; it's recommended to switch to it, even if you currently have the Bible sub-weapon.

Continue descending the tower to reach the bottom, where you'll drop into an observatory. Here, you'll find chairs by a table and a telescope. Press UP near the telescope to trigger a scene showing the ferryman, a nod to his presence in the game. Afterward, return to the area with the Armor Lord.

Armor Lord Strategy: This is a challenging enemy. When you approach, it will deploy an impenetrable shield that blocks all attacks. Stop attacking and move away to make it lower its shield. Its attacks cover the entire platform, so jump off when one is initiated and return to attack once it's safe.

Enter the adjacent room, which should be empty. The bottom-left wall is breakable and contains a Pot Roast. Position Alucard in the newly broken section of the wall and wait for about ten seconds. A purple platform will appear, transporting Alucard to the room below. This platform remains even if you leave and re-enter the room.

In the room below, you'll find the Jewel Knuckles and the Mirror Cuirass. The Jewel Knuckles offer higher attack power but have less reach than the Saber. The Mirror Cuirass has the same stats as the Bronze Cuirass but prevents petrification from Medusa Heads.

With the Outer Wall objectives complete for now, proceed to the elevator above. Take it to the third and final stop. Exit the elevator and go through the red door directly above it. This room contains the teleporter, which allows for faster castle traversal.

To use the teleporter, approach the keyhole and press UP. The teleporter will activate and take you to another one. The teleporter in the Outer Wall features a Lion, while the one you'll teleport to has a Horse, helping you distinguish them.

Leave this room to the right.
