Learn how to defeat The Witch of Hemwick in Bloodborne. This guide covers boss attacks, phases, and strategies for victory, along with item drops and important collectibles.
Walkthrough
- 1Enter the boss arena. You may initially mistake the Mad One for the boss, but the real boss is The Witch of Hemwick, who remains invisible.
- 2The Mad One is slow and avoidable; try to stay away from it.
- 3Phase 1: Run around the arena looking for The Witch of Hemwick.
- 4When she appears, quickly attack her. She will defend herself with a burst of pink energy and then disappear.
- 5Continue this until her life bar appears, revealing her as a doppelganger.
- 6Search for the Doppelganger while avoiding the Mad Ones she summons.
- 7Phase 2: The real witch will start shooting white orbs that bind you, making you vulnerable.
- 8She can also grab you to heal herself or revive the doppelganger.
- 9The easiest way to deal with this is to locate the source of the white orbs and approach her from behind.
- 10Attack her from behind before she can see you.
- 11Avoid the paralysis spell by rolling to the side (left). If paralyzed, she may perform an Eye Gouge attack, which does heavy damage and can revive the doppelganger.
- 12After defeating The Witch of Hemwick, collect your drops: 11,800 Blood Echoes and 4 Bloodshot Eyeballs.
- 13Before leaving the area, head down the opposite stairs to find a room. Inside, a corpse holds the Rune Workshop Tool, which allows you to equip runes in the Hunter’s Dream by speaking to the altar near Gehrman.
