GEN ERA or GEN MOVE

Decide between GEN ERA and GEN MOVE in Atomfall's Casterfell Dam Data Storage. Learn the consequences for Dr. Garrow and Joyce Tanner and how to achieve different endings.

After freeing Dr. Garrow and obtaining her Research Notes, she will task you with reaching Casterfell Dam Data Storage in the northwest of Casterfell Woods. She provides a keycard and instructs you to enter the GEN ERA command at a terminal within the facility. Alternatively, you can kill Dr. Garrow for the keycard, but this will leave you uninformed about Oberon and the Interchange.

To reach the facility, approach from the dam site patrolled by druids or from the east, descending into a large hole. If approaching from Wyndham Village, you'll encounter a gated area with Ferals; use traps and strong weapons to defeat them. Beyond this, a cave filled with toxic gas leads to the facility entrance. An Antidote can mitigate health loss from the gas. To the right of the cave entrance is Bunker L9, containing the Casterfell Radio Tower Key.

Inside the facility, locate a powered-down terminal. Enter the rear-left room labeled 'Electrical' using Dr. Garrow's keycard. Hack a yellow junction box with your Signal Redirector to activate a turret in the central area. Deactivate the turret by interacting with a nearby junction box, which triggers a vent releasing rats. Use an Explosive Lure to stall them or wait for the patrolling B.A.R.D. robot to eliminate them with its flamethrower. Hack another junction box on the right to stop the rats.

To access the Control Room for the main terminal, evade the B.A.R.D. robot and use a pile of crates to reach a ceiling junction box. This powers up a room near the entrance. Interact with the card reader there to power the main terminal. Upon activation, Joyce Tanner will contact you, requesting you use the GEN MOVE command to transfer the bunker's data onto a tape and deliver it to her. At the terminal, you must choose between the GEN ERA and GEN MOVE commands.

Choosing GEN ERA: If you ignore Joyce and select GEN ERA, you will erase the bunker's data. Dr. Garrow will be pleased when you meet her at the Central Processor in the Interchange, allowing you to discuss Oberon and the Interchange. Joyce will be upset, but you can placate her by claiming you don't have the data. This choice keeps your options open for different endings.

Choosing GEN MOVE: If you select GEN MOVE, the bunker's data will be transferred to the Project Oberon Data Tape next to the terminal. Take this tape to Joyce at Data Store Charlie in the Interchange. Dr. Garrow will be displeased and become hostile, attacking you with a Shiv at the Central Processor. You will be forced to kill her, losing access to her ending. Delivering the tape to Joyce earns her trust. If you haven't activated three Radio Towers, she will ask you to do so, bringing you closer to escaping the quarantine zone with her.
