Part 29

Navigate Part 29 of The Quarry walkthrough, covering Kaitlyn's werewolf attack and Abi/Emma's basement exploration, including potential deaths and choices.

This section details two main scenarios: Kaitlyn's encounter with a werewolf and Abi/Emma's exploration of a basement.

Werewolf Attack, Kaitlyn alone

This variant plays out if Dylan is dead or separated from Kaitlyn in Chapter 8. Kaitlyn is the playable character.

Infection - Kaitlyn bit by Caleb: To infect Kaitlyn, choose to Hide instead of going for the gun, then fail the subsequent Don't Breathe event.

Possible Death - Kaitlyn:

• Failing to decide between Hiding or going for the gun in time.
• When going for the gun, failing the Shootout event to shoot the werewolf.
• When Hiding, failing the Shootout event to shoot the werewolf when it enters the vehicle.
• Failing the QTE while fiddling with the support pillar.
• If Kaitlyn was not infected, failing the final QTE to dislodge the pillar as the werewolf approaches.

Choice - Kaitlyn trapped in scrapyard: To trap Kaitlyn, get her infected. Then, succeed Shootout events and QTEs until the final QTE where the werewolf approaches. If infected, she'll survive this, otherwise, she will die. Failing anything else after getting infected will still result in death.

Path - Teambuilding: This path updates with the outcome of this section.

9-Abi-2, as Abi

This variant plays out when Abi is alive.

Exploring basement

Exploration ends upon investigating the ladder in a dark corner to the left of the fuse box.

Path - Teambuilding: If Abi investigates the fuse box, she picks up a silver shell. Path Teambuilding updates. Abi will always have a silver shell regardless.

Leaving the basement

Possible Death - Abi: Conditions: Emma alive and infected in 6-Emma. Emma will transform and can kill Abi. Abi will die if she chooses the Stairs instead of the Ladder.

Possible Death - Abi: Conditions: Emma alive, Emma infected, and 2-Dylan Ladder rung weakened. If the ladder rung was weakened, there'll be a QTE to climb back up. Failing this kills Abi and updates Path Watch Your Step. If the ladder rung was not weakened, Abi always makes it up fine.

Consequence - 2-Dylan Ladder rung weakened: If the ladder rung was weakened in 2-Dylan, it will break here. Path Watch Your Step is updated. This has no other effect besides the potential for Abi's death.

Path - Teambuilding: At the end of this scene, Path Teambuilding updates with who made it out of the basement.

9-Abi-2, as Emma

This variant plays out if Abi is dead and Emma is alive, and Emma was not infected in 4-Emma-1.

Exploring basement

Exploration ends upon investigating the ladder in a dark corner to the left of the fuse box.

Choice - Emma has silver shell: Investigating the fuse box results in Emma picking up a silver shell, relevant in 10-Kaitlyn-2. This action must be taken for Emma to have one.

Consequence - 6-Emma Emma infected: If Emma is infected, she will transform in this scene. Path Teambuilding updates with whether Emma made it into the lodge (she won't if she transformed).

Leaving the basement

Consequence - 2-Dylan Ladder rung weakened: If Emma was infected, she transforms before using the ladder. Otherwise, if the ladder rung was weakened in 2-Dylan, it breaks here. Path Watch Your Step is updated.
