The Quarry Part 20 walkthrough covering Abi's infection, Jacob's Rotor Arm quest for Bloated Corpse Evidence, and Ryan's encounter with werewolf blood.
Walkthrough
- 1Abi's Infection: If Abi did not fail climbing the tree or did not attempt to climb it, a 'Don't Breathe' event will occur. Failing this event will result in Abi being bitten. If Abi fails the 'Don't Breathe' event, she will be bitten. Do not attempt to get infected here if Abi is already infected. Failing to climb the tree will end the scene early, preventing another bite opportunity.
- 2Nick Choice: The choice to help Nick or not affects dialogue later in the 'Path Pieces of Silver'.
- 3Jacob's Rotor Arm: If Jacob sabotaged the van by taking the Rotor Arm instead of cutting the fuel line, he will discover it's lost in the lake. You can choose to jump into the lake to retrieve it. This is necessary to obtain the 'Bloated Corpse Evidence'. The 'Path A Fool's Errand' will update, but the rotor arm will be listed as lost regardless of success.
- 4Bloated Corpse Evidence: To get this evidence, the Rotor Arm must have been taken in '1-Jacob'. Jump into the lake after the rotor arm, choose to grab it when spotted (do not Surface), and succeed the QTE to grab it.
- 5Jacob's Death (3-Jacob-1): If Jacob chose the Rotor Arm in '1-Jacob', he can die after discovering the Bloated Corpse Evidence. Choosing 'Pull' twice instead of 'Detangle', or failing to choose an option in time during the subsequent event, will result in Jacob's death.
- 6Ryan Reaching Nick: Failing QTEs when Ryan nears Nick's location will result in a different scene. Reaching Nick in time unlocks the 'Nick of Time' Achievement and updates 'Path Finders Keepers'.
- 7Ryan and Werewolf Blood: If Ryan reached Nick in time, a Shootout event occurs where he can shoot at Bobby. Hitting Bobby causes him to drop a vial of werewolf blood, which Ryan picks up. This blood is used later in '10-Laura-2'. Firing and missing Bobby has a different effect than not firing at all. 'Path Finders Keepers' updates based on this choice. Ryan cannot harm Nick.
- 8Ryan Fires into Bushes: If Ryan was not fast enough to reach Nick, a Shootout event occurs where he can shoot into bushes as something emerges. Firing is said to have an effect detailed in 'Path Finders Keepers', but has no consequence. Missing is also possible.
- 9Jacob Marked with Werewolf Blood (3-Jacob-2): If Jacob is alive and doesn't choose to throw dirt to get away from Bobby after being cut down, he will be marked with werewolf blood. This effect wears off after Chapter 6 and offers minor protection in '6-Jacob'.
- 10Jacob's Death (4-Ryan): If Jacob is alive, Ryan may kill him in Chapter 4. If Ryan fires during the second Shootout event aiming into the bushes, Jacob will die. Firing to the side and missing Jacob results in a slightly different reunion. Firing during the first Shootout event has no consequence. 'The Distraction Path' updates if Jacob dies.
- 11Ryan Leaves Note: If Jacob is dead before or during Chapter 4, Ryan can leave a note. This note can be found by Emma in '6-Emma'.
- 12Optional Infections: Emma can be infected by Max in '4-Emma-1'.
- 13Optional Deaths: Jacob can die in '4-Ryan'. Emma can die in '4-Emma-1' and '4-Emma-2'.
Tips
- To ensure Jacob's survival in Chapter 4, have Ryan fire to the side during the second Shootout event, missing Jacob.
- Retrieving the Rotor Arm is crucial for obtaining the 'Bloated Corpse Evidence'.
- The werewolf blood Ryan collects is vital for a later chapter.
