This guide details how to infect various characters in The Quarry, focusing on the consequences and specific choices required. Understanding these infection paths is crucial for unlocking different story outcomes and ensuring character survival or transformation.

Infecting Dylan:

1. By Emma: Requires Emma to be infected in Chapter 4. In Chapter 8 (Kaitlyn), when Werewolf Emma attacks, choose 'Shoot' and succeed. If Abi is alive, this saves her. When the werewolf jumps on the vehicle, fail the 'Shootout' event. Dylan will be attacked; succeed the next 'Shootout' to save him. If Dylan is already infected, this leads to a humorous scene.
2. By Caleb: Requires Dylan's hand to be saved and him not already infected (cabin not broken into in Chapter 1). In Chapter 9 (Dylan-2), choose to 'Sound the Horn' instead of 'Slam Car' to lure the werewolf. Succeed the QTE to light the torch. After the werewolf breaks through the windshield, fail the QTE to get bitten. Succeed the next QTE to grab the torch.

To have Dylan infected by the end of the game, Silas must be spared.

Infecting Ryan:

Ryan is infected by accepting Laura's bite in Chapter 9 (Ryan-2). He is cured alongside Laura by killing Chris in Chapter 9 (Ryan-3). If not cured, he dies, making it impossible for him to be infected at the game's end.

Infecting Emma:

1. In Chapter 4 (Emma-1):
   
   • Leg Bite: Succeed QTEs in the chase so Emma keeps the taser. Near the end, fail the QTE while climbing the ladder to get bitten. Succeed the next QTE to use the taser and survive.
   • Arm Bite: Towards the end of the chase, fail the QTE to push over a cabinet. Succeed the next QTE to survive. To avoid failing the wrong QTE, choose 'Run to the Trapdoor' instead of 'Block the Door'.
2. In Chapter 6 (Emma): When finding hunters, choose 'Interrupt to Run'. If Emma has fireworks, fail the QTE to use them. Emma gets infected by Silas.

Consequences of Emma's Infection:

• Infected in Chapter 4: Turns off-screen before Chapter 8, endangering Abi and Dylan in Chapter 8 (Kaitlyn). Saving Abi requires succeeding a difficult 'Shootout' event. Cured by killing Chris (Chapter 9), Caleb (Chapter 10), or Silas (Chapter 10). If infected in Chapter 4 and remaining infected, Silas, Chris, and Caleb must be spared. Kaitlyn must not kill her with silver shells in Chapter 8.
• Infected in Chapter 6: Turns later in Chapter 9 (Abi-2), endangering Abi. Choose 'Ladder' to escape. Cured by killing Silas.

To have Emma infected by the end, she must survive Chapter 4 if infected there, Silas must be spared, and if infected in Chapter 4, Chris and Caleb must be spared (requiring Laura and Ryan's deaths). Kaitlyn must also not kill her in Chapter 8.

Infecting Nick:

Nick is always infected by Caleb in Chapter 3 (Abi). He transforms in Chapter 6 (Abi) and can kill Abi unless shot beforehand. He also endangers Jacob in Chapters 8 and 9. Cured by killing Caleb (Chapter 10) or Silas (Chapter 10). To have Nick infected at the end, he must not be killed by Laura (Chapter 8), and Caleb and Silas must be spared.

Infecting Kaitlyn:

1. By Caleb in Chapter 9 (Dylan-2):
   
   • Dylan Present: Fail the final QTE for Dylan to move the lever.
   • Kaitlyn Alone: Choose 'Hide' at the start. Fail the 'Don't Breathe' event to get bit. Succeed remaining QTEs.

Cured by killing Caleb (Chapter 10) or Silas (Chapter 10). To have Kaitlyn infected at the end, Caleb and Silas must be spared. Caleb can be spared by allowing Kaitlyn to be attacked by him (fail QTE), ensuring Dylan is not present or also infected.

Infecting Max:

Max is always infected by Chris at the start in Chapter 0 (Laura-2). He turns into a werewolf in Chapter 7 and remains one, attacking Emma in Chapter 4 and infecting Laura. Typically cured by killing Chris (Chapter 9), Caleb (Chapter 10), or Silas (Chapter 10).
