Alright, let's talk about one of the wilder stunts you can pull off in The Precinct: Vehicle Surfing. It's a bit of a showstopper, and thankfully, failing it won't cost you any stars you've already earned, which is a nice break. You'll find this in Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, Saints Row IV, and Saints Row: Gat out of Hell. How it Works When you're chilling on top of a moving vehicle, you'll get a prompt to start the Vehicle Surfing Diversion. Just make sure the driver doesn't stop, and you don't fall off, or the diversion ends. You'll see a 'Balance Arc' HUD pop up. Your job is to use your left and right movement controls to keep the arrow in the center of that arc. The background of the arc will shift from Green to Red, showing you how close you are to losing it. The longer you stay balanced, the more Diversion stars you'll rack up. Once you kick things off, the driver will start going a bit crazy, which is part of the fun. After a little while, you'll get another prompt to press the Action button to switch to a handstand. This isn't required, but hey, it looks cool and you can do it whenever you feel like it. Getting Started This diversion can be started on any regular vehicle. You *can* try it on police or enemy gang vehicles, but be warned: in Saints Row 2, you'll gain Notoriety and the driver will bail. In The Third and IV, though, they'll keep driving, and thankfully, they don't drive as erratically, making it a bit easier. Rewards While you won't get any direct Cash from this, you *will* earn Respect, and there's a neat achievement called 'Surf's Up'.
