Hey there! So, you're diving deeper into the basement and want to know about some of the cool familiars that can tag along? Awesome! Familiars are basically little buddies that follow you around and help you out, either by attacking enemies, blocking shots, or even giving you helpful items. Let's break down a few of the ones you might find.

Halo of Flies

This one's pretty neat. When you pick up Halo of Flies, you'll get two little flies that just orbit your head. They look pretty classy, right? But they're not just for show! If a enemy projectile comes your way, these flies will actually destroy it, acting like a shield for you. Plus, they deal a little bit of touch damage to enemies, which is a nice bonus. This familiar is fantastic for those moments when you can't quite dodge everything, and it can really save your bacon in a tight spot. It's also great for clearing out rooms packed with enemies because the flies will just keep chipping away at them.

Lil Chubby

Lil Chubby is a bit different. When you fire your own tears, Lil Chubby will follow along and deal extra damage to whatever it hits. It has unlimited range, but it'll stop if it hits something that isn't an enemy, like a rock or a wall. Once it hits an obstruction, it'll come back to you and needs a couple of seconds to recharge before it can be used again. It's a small, worm-like creature that follows you around. While it's not the most spectacular familiar, it can be really effective, especially against bosses. Since bosses are big targets, Lil Chubby can hit them multiple times, racking up damage. It's also great for picking off stationary enemies from a distance, giving you a good shot at dealing a chunk of damage in one go.

The Relic

This is a super helpful familiar, especially if you like to clear out every room you come across. With The Relic, you'll get a soul heart after completing every fifth combat room. That means if you're thorough and fight your way through the rooms, you'll be rewarded with extra health. It's a blue cross that follows you around. On the higher floors, this can easily net you around 3 to 4 soul hearts if you're clearing every combat room, which is a massive help in keeping you alive and well.

Sack of Pennies

This item is pretty straightforward and gives you money! While it doesn't directly help you fight, having extra cash is always a good thing in The Binding of Isaac. You can use it to buy helpful items from shops or beggars, which can make a huge difference in your run.
