Discover optional quests in Alvanista, including the Spirit of Aska and Ninja Village. Learn about the Eternal Sword and prepare for your next journey in Tales of Phantasia.

Upon arriving in Alvanista, several opportunities await:

Optional Quests:

• Speak with the woman at the south entrance to learn about the capture of the Spirit of Aska, initiating a side quest to obtain the optional Summon Spirit Aska later.
• On the second floor of an eastern building, a man on the left will reveal the location of a Ninja Village Entrance in Treant Forest, another side quest for later.

Races:

You can participate in races to win prizes up to three times. Recommended prizes include the S-Flag (sellable for significant gold), Silver Mattock, Flare Spread Bow, or Short Bow.

Castle & The Eternal Sword:

Proceed to the northern castle. After a cutscene where Harrison and Runeglom (who has Elven Blood) facilitate your entry, you will meet the king. He reveals that the Eternal Sword, needed to defeat Dhaos, is formed by combining two specific weapons. Information gathered in Thor indicates the locations of these weapons.

Magic Users & Spells:

• In the castle basement, find a man in green (among three randomly moving individuals) who will inform you that Fenrir is located in Freezekill.
• Another individual in the same area will explain that combining Odin's and Fenrir's power creates the Eternal Sword. A person in a blue robe will mention Odin's Tower is in Freyland.
• On the second floor, an Euclid Swordsman offers class changes for Cress (refer to the Cress Classes & Status Screen Stars section for details).
• In the magic users' basement, Arche can learn the Tractor Beam and Thunder Blade spells.
• Cress can learn the Bolt Crash spell from a man on the lower left of the second floor.

Equipment & Next Steps:

Before departing, consider purchasing equipment such as the Pole Axe or the versatile ? Sword (transformable into a Holy Sword) for Cress, and a Holy Staff for Mint. With the Rheairds available, this is an opportune time to undertake various side quests. Your next destination is a snow-covered land southwest of Freyland.
