This mission will push your tactical awareness and introduce you to more complex enemy types and environmental hazards. You'll need to master the art of flanking, efficient resource management, and utilizing the environment to your advantage to survive. Expect to encounter your first heavy armored units and learn the importance of weapon specialization.

Your primary objective in this mission is to infiltrate a derelict research facility, secure vital data, and extract. The facility is rumored to be heavily guarded by enhanced Strigoi units, making stealth and calculated aggression equally important. Pay close attention to your surroundings, as hidden pathways and valuable intel can often be found off the beaten path. This section will guide you through the facility, highlighting key engagement zones, data terminals, and strategies for overcoming the new threats you'll face.

Infiltration and Initial Engagement

Upon deployment, you'll find yourself at the perimeter of the research facility. The initial approach is often patrolled by standard Strigoi units. Consider a stealthy approach here to conserve ammunition and health. Use your silenced pistol (if unlocked) or perform melee takedowns on isolated targets. Look for ventilation shafts or broken windows on the north side of the facility for a less direct entry point. Entering through the main gate will trigger an immediate alert and a larger engagement.

Once inside the main lobby, you'll likely encounter your first Heavy Strigoi. These units are heavily armored and resistant to standard small arms fire. Their weak point is typically a glowing power cell located on their back. Prioritize flanking maneuvers or using environmental explosives (look for red barrels) to expose this weakness. A well-placed shot from your assault rifle or shotgun to the power cell will often stagger them, allowing for follow-up attacks. Remember to maintain distance, as their melee attacks deal significant damage.

Proceed through the eastern corridor. You'll encounter a series of interconnected labs. These areas are often filled with debris, providing ample cover. Be wary of Strigoi ambushes from behind overturned tables or broken equipment. Always check corners before advancing. There's a hidden cache containing 2x Medkits and 1x Grenade in the third lab on the left, accessible by interacting with a loose floor panel near the central console.

Data Retrieval and Extraction

Your primary data terminal is located in the central server room, accessible via the western corridor from the main lobby. This area is heavily fortified, often guarded by two Heavy Strigoi and several standard units. Before entering, consider deploying a grenade to thin out the standard units or stagger the Heavies. Focus fire on one Heavy Strigoi at a time to reduce incoming damage. Utilize the server racks as cover, but be aware that they can be destroyed by sustained fire.

Once the area is clear, interact with the glowing console to begin the data download. This process takes approximately 30 seconds, during which you will be attacked by waves of Strigoi. Position yourself strategically, preferably near a chokepoint, and defend the terminal. Prioritize targets that get too close to the console. After the download is complete, a new objective marker will appear, guiding you to the extraction point on the facility's rooftop.

The path to the rooftop will involve a final gauntlet of enemies, including a mix of standard and armored units. Don't hesitate to use any remaining grenades or special abilities. Once on the rooftop, eliminate any remaining hostiles before calling for extraction. A dropship will arrive shortly. Board the dropship to complete the mission.
