Mission 1: The First Spark

Start your journey with Mission 1: The First Spark in Strinova. Learn basic combat mechanics, aiming, and cover usage against initial threats.

Welcome, operative, to your first true mission in Strinova. "The First Spark" throws you directly into the fray, testing your understanding of the basic combat mechanics introduced in the Prologue. This mission is designed to solidify your aiming, movement, and cover usage against live, albeit basic, enemy threats. You'll also get your first taste of objective-based gameplay and resource management.

Your primary objective in this mission is to infiltrate a derelict research outpost, neutralize any hostile resistance, and retrieve critical data. Expect to encounter standard "Scavenger" units, which are lightly armored but can overwhelm you in numbers. Pay close attention to environmental cues and utilize the sparse cover available. This mission will also introduce you to your first weapon upgrade opportunity, so keep an eye out for hidden caches.

Objective 1: Infiltrate the Outpost

Upon mission start, you'll find yourself on the outskirts of the research outpost. The main entrance is heavily guarded. Instead, look for a collapsed section of the perimeter fence to your left. Crouch (C key) to navigate through the debris. Immediately after entering, take cover behind the overturned transport vehicle. Two Scavenger units patrol this initial courtyard. Wait for the patrol to separate; one will move towards the derelict building, the other will remain near the entrance. Prioritize the isolated Scavenger first with a headshot for a quick takedown. Then, flank the second Scavenger by moving along the right wall of the courtyard, using the scattered crates for cover. Engage when you have a clear line of sight.

Objective 2: Secure the Data Core

After clearing the courtyard, proceed into the main research building. The data core is located on the second floor. As you enter, be aware of a single Scavenger patrolling the ground floor corridor. Use the broken terminals for cover. Ascend the stairs to your right. On the second floor, you'll encounter a small group of three Scavengers guarding the data core room. This is your first real test of crowd control. Consider using a frag grenade (G key) if you have one, or focus fire on one enemy at a time while utilizing the doorframe for cover. Once the room is clear, interact with the glowing console to download the data. This will take a few seconds, so ensure the area is secure.

Objective 3: Exfiltrate

With the data secured, your exfiltration point will be marked on your HUD. It's located on the opposite side of the outpost from where you entered. Expect renewed resistance as you make your way out. Two new Scavenger units will have spawned near the main entrance you avoided earlier. You can either engage them directly or attempt to bypass them by sticking to the shadows along the perimeter. A hidden weapon cache containing an "Enhanced Grip" attachment for your primary rifle can be found behind a stack of rusted barrels near the exfiltration point. Equip it immediately for improved accuracy. Once you reach the designated exfiltration zone, hold F to complete the mission.
