Complete walkthrough for the Dead Frequency (Star Route) mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Find Faust's agent, locate Ward sensors, and track down Lt. Shterev.
Walkthrough
- 1Finding Camp Icarus: From Azimuth Station, head east, then south, and finally southeast to reach Camp Icarus. If aligned with the Spark faction, you cannot enter directly. You will receive a radio call from Star, redirecting you.
- 2Head to Izumrudne: After Star's call, return north and take the east road at the second intersection to find Izumrudne. Star is located in a small hut next to a large tower. Speak with him to learn about the need to hack radio frequencies and acquire sensors.
- 3Getting the Ward Sensors: If you previously gave the Ward Sensors to Richter (A Needle In a Haystack mission), Star will already have them. Otherwise, if you gave them to The Ward, retrieve them from Sergeant Orlowski's corpse in the southeastern shack in Izumrudne, navigating through anomalies. Upon acquiring the sensors, you'll learn Lt. Shterev is the traitor, with Alpha and Bravo teams sent to Claw and Vent.
- 4Find Alpha Team - Claw: Head east from Izumrudne to the Gas Station (Claw location). Neutralize the Alpha Team member near the pumps. Proceed east to a fissure. Eliminate the Alpha Team member on the other side, then descend into the fissure using platforms. At the bottom, find Lt. Koptytsky's corpse with Shterev's PDA. For additional Alpha Team members and mutants, explore the cave network to the east. The last Alpha Team member is at the far east end of the caves.
- 5Find Bravo Team - Vent: From Claw, travel south and west back to the road, then south at the intersection to reach the Vent. Ascend the stairs to the tower, enter, and descend ladders and stairs to the bottom.
Tips
- Use a silenced weapon for stealthy takedowns of Alpha Team members.
- Shotguns are effective against the agile monkey mutants found in the fissure.
- Be prepared for hostile encounters with remaining Alpha Team members and mutants.
- Shterev's PDA (progresses the mission).
