How to Fast Travel

Learn how to unlock and use the fast travel system in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Discover guide locations, costs, and tips for managing your money in The Zone.

To fast travel in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you need to speak with guides located in major camps. The first guide is Uncle Lyonya in Zalissya, found in the northwestern house. You can identify guide locations on the map by a target icon in hub areas like Zalissya and Slag Heap. However, speaking to one guide is not enough; you must speak to a second guide before fast travel to a location becomes available.

The second guide you'll encounter is Bonkers in the Slag Heap of Garbage, typically encountered while progressing the main story quests. Once you have spoken to two guides, you can use their services to fast travel between their locations. This service comes with a fee, with the minimum cost being 1500 K. While this cost is significant enough to discourage frequent use, it is not prohibitive, especially as you progress further into The Zone and may accumulate coupons (K).

In the early game, you may not have sufficient funds for fast travel. In such cases, walking between the initial zones is often necessary. To earn money early on, consider repairing weapons found from bandits at Lens the Technician in Zalissya and selling them to Hamster, provided the weapon is not too damaged (indicated by a yellow, not red, repair icon). Alternatively, you can take on jobs from Warlock, who is located behind the bar in Zalissya, to increase your funds.

To initiate fast travel, speak to a guide and express your interest in finding a guide. You will then be prompted to select a destination, pay the required fee, and you will be teleported to that location.

It is generally advisable to complete all available missions within a hub area before moving to the next. This strategy can save you money in the long run by reducing the need for frequent fast travel.
