Hot on the Trail Mission Walkthrough: Wild Island

Accessing Noontide Base: Entry depends on your choice regarding the Unusual PDA. If you showed it to the Ward, you get a Ward Badge for easy access. If not, return to Sawmill, speak to Mute for the 'A Heavy Burden' side mission, retrieve the cargo near Noontide Base, and gain entry, though trust will be limited.

Locate Strider: With base access, exit the checkpoint via the long tunnel. If you completed 'A Heavy Burden,' deliver the cargo to Prof. Lodochka in the southeast. Ask him about Strider; he'll direct you to Dubny.

Find Dubny: Dubny is in the main building northwest of Prof. Lodochka's lab. Exit the lab, follow tracks to the outer wall, return towards the tunnel, and find a white door. Inside, go downstairs, follow the north hallway, ascend stairs, proceed through the hallway, and exit the next door. Follow the subsequent hallway until you see guards. Cross the wooden plank bridge to the east, follow the tunnel to find Dubny confronting Faust. He will only reveal Strider's location after you confirm seeing anomalies without an emission.

Disable the Scanner: Retrace your steps. The wooden plank will have fallen; drop down, avoid an anomaly, and climb a ladder. Back in the main hub, find the door near the bed and stash. Follow the path to a guard who will let you pass, as instructed by Dubny. Traverse the anomaly-filled area, equipping bolts. Speak to the Doctor, Foma, for healing supplies if needed. Follow the linear path southeast to a red brick wall with poisonous anomalies. Navigate around them eastward, waiting for poisonous clouds to dissipate. Continue past pallets of metal drums and more poisonous anomalies. Head east around a corner, then south to a carriage.

Interact with Strider: Go through the carriage to find Strider. He will ask about the scanner. Interact with the scanner to shut it down. Strider will then agree to talk and explain the situation. You can choose to show him the Unusual PDA. He will then mention a database for tracking Monolithian PDAs and advise you to speak with Prof. Lodochka. Exit the area south through the carriage and the door.

Return to Prof. Lodochka: Go back to Prof. Lodochka. He is on the radio to Khors. You can accept the 'A Sign of Hope' side mission for an anomaly detector by asking if he needs help. To continue the main story, inform him you need to trace a Monolithian PDA.

Obtain the Inductor: An Inductor is required. Its location depends on whether you completed the 'Shift Change' side mission.

If 'Shift Change' was completed: Exit the lab and head northeast towards the objective marker. Follow the wall left to find a gap, go between green containers to the right, then right again through a small gap, and right once more to find crates. The Inductor is in a backpack behind the crates.
