Part 6

Part 6 of the Spyro: Year of the Dragon walkthrough covers Sunrise Spring Home, introducing key power-ups and the initial story cutscenes. Learn how to find your first Dragon Egg!

Alright, welcome back! We're diving into Part 6 of our Spyro: Year of the Dragon adventure. This section is going to cover some of the basics, like special power-ups you'll find, and get us started with the story and our first level.

First off, let's talk about some cool abilities Spyro can pick up:

• Superfly: This lets Spyro fly instead of just gliding. You can get a little extra height by pressing the [X] button to flap his wings.
• Superflame: Spyro unleashes fireballs that can scorch anything in their path. Use the [Triangle] button to target your shots.
• Invincibility: For a short time, Spyro becomes completely indestructible.

Now, before we jump into the gameplay, the game kicks off with a bit of a story. You'll see an intro called 'An Evil Plot Unfolds' where Bianca, the Sorceress's assistant, sneaks into the Dragon Worlds and steals all the Dragon Eggs while the dragons are sleeping. Hunter spots her, and after a bit of a scuffle, Spyro ends up chasing Bianca back through a portal.

Then, we get 'A Powerful Villan Emerges,' where the Sorceress gives Bianca orders to guard the tunnels. Zoe, a dragonfly, is spying on them.

Finally, 'A Desperate Rescue Begins' sets the stage. Spyro learns from a dragon and Zoe that the Eggs were taken to the Forgotten Worlds. With the dragons unable to retrieve them, Spyro takes it upon himself to go find them all.

And with that, we finally start playing in Sunrise Spring Home! You'll find 400 Gems, 5 Dragon Eggs, and some Sheep to charge up here.

Your first task is to explore the immediate area. Walk around the starting platform, using your flame breath to open a couple of baskets for some gems. Head down the steps and look around for more gems. You should also find a Butterfly Glass nearby, which will give you an extra life.

Keep heading up the steps. Near the top, take a left to find more gems and your very first Dragon Egg! This one is Egg 001 out of 150, and it's located by the stream on a ledge just before you reach the very top of these steps.

After grabbing that egg, jump up another step. You'll see a portal labeled 'Sunny Villa.' Don't go in just yet! We still have more to do in this starting area.

As you approach the Sunny Villa portal, Zoe will pop in to give you some camera tips:

• To rotate your camera, use the [L2] or [R2] buttons.
• To quickly face the camera behind you, press [L1] or [R1].
• To look around, hold down the [Triangle] button.

Finally, approach the Sunny Villa portal. Bianca will appear, trying to threaten you and telling you to leave. Just ignore her for now, as we've got eggs to collect!
