Master the final boss, Solaris, in Sonic the Hedgehog Part 28. Learn strategies for Super Sonic, Super Shadow, and Super Silver, and how to manage Rings and attacks.
Stats / Weaknesses:
- Solaris: Final boss, requires strategic use of Super Sonic, Shadow, and Silver.
Phases:
- Phase 1: Solaris blocks attacks from two of the three Super characters with a blue shield. Damage him with the designated character until a part breaks off, allowing another character to attack. The order is Silver, Shadow, Sonic, then any character.
- Phase 2: Solaris increases attack intensity. He blocks attacks when idle but lowers his guard when launching lasers, allowing attacks from any character. Sonic and Shadow are generally more effective in this phase.
Strategy:
- Controls: All Super characters use D-pad for movement, Attack button for special attacks, Jump button to move faster, and Special Action to charge the Action Gauge. Y or Triangle switches characters.
- Super Sonic: Starts with an empty Action Gauge. Homing Attack is powerful when the gauge is full. Holding Jump makes him faster. Special Action charges the gauge.
- Super Shadow: Starts with an empty Action Gauge. Red Chaos Spear is effective when the gauge is full. Holding Jump makes him faster. Special Action charges the gauge faster than Sonic's.
- Super Silver: Starts with a full Action Gauge that recharges automatically if Telekinesis isn't used. Attack button throws objects held by Telekinesis. Holding Jump makes him faster. Special Action (hold Right Trigger) picks up and throws spiky balls using Telekinesis, consuming the Action Gauge.
- Action Gauge: Crucial for Sonic and Shadow's attacks. Silver uses it to pick up and throw objects.
- Rings: Start with 50 Rings, lose 10 when hit. If one character is low on Rings, switch to another; the low-Ring character will recover Rings over time.
- Boss Fight Mechanics: Think of this fight as a mix of Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes boss battles. You can only control one character at a time but can switch using the Switch button.
- S-Rank Strategy: Hit Solaris early. Rings are vital. Finish the boss with a character having full Rings (e.g., by getting the boss to low health, switching to a Super Character with 50 Rings, and finishing quickly). Shadow is recommended for the final blow due to his faster attack speed.
- General Movement: Circle around the boss or pick a direction (left or right) to avoid Solaris's lasers and projectiles.
