Sonic the Hedgehog Part 27 walkthrough: Find all 7 Chaos Emeralds, defeat eyeballs, and beat Solaris Phase 1 & 2.
Eyeballs appear with a purple or orange shimmer. To temporarily get rid of them, touch or attack the orbs with an eagle statue on top, then quickly advance. You can pull away from their grip by running, or gliding away as Knuckles and Rouge.
S-rank Tips: Kill nearby monsters, even with Rouge and Knuckles, but do not take too long. For an S-rank on the direct route with Shadow, jump off the last rail to a small platform with 40 Rings and a 1up, then hit the spring for approximately 5000 easy points.
Section 1: Yellow Emerald
Character/Act: Tails in part of Crisis City
Difficulty: Medium
The first Boost Ring is difficult to reach; after grabbing it, press Jump and fly again to reach the other side. On the skyscraper's side, look right to find a tall building with boxes; the Chaos Emerald is there.
Section 2: Green Emerald
Character/Act: Omega in part of Flame Core
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Hover left to catch platforms near the next spring. Kill nearby enemies to open the door; the eyeballs will assist. An eagle statue is on the other side of the door. In the next lava room, stick to the left for the shortest path, but an eagle statue is to the right. Going to the eagle statue will eventually reveal a platform to the spring. Alternatively, head directly to the spring on the far left. Catch a moving platform to reach the Chaos Emerald; even if a purple eyeball appears, staying on the platform is manageable.
Section 3: Light Blue Emerald
Character/Act: Knuckles in part of Tropical Jungle
Difficulty: Medium
Glide slightly left and climb onto the platform with four boxes. Jump off and glide left to an Eagle Statue. Continue heading left to find the Chaos Emerald.
Section 4: White Emerald
Character/Act: Silver in part of Dusty Desert
Difficulty: Hard
Glide between platforms until you reach the first Eagle Statues before the stairs. At the top of the stairs, defeat all enemies; platforms will appear across the sand, or you can jump from high up, fall, land on statues, and barely cross. Next, break free from eyeballs and levitate across gaps. Behind one eyeball is another Eagle Statue. Quickly reach the platforms that appear and disappear from the wall; instead of timing jumps, land on the tiny ledges by the wall to ascend. Ahead is a quicksand gap; levitate across it to the stairs, going as far left as possible before levitating if eyeballs appear to escape their pull. Go straight past a giant monster; the Chaos Emerald is on a small platform reachable by jumping and levitating, or by killing all monsters to make another platform appear.
Section 5: Purple Emerald
Character/Act: Rouge in part of Wave Ocean
Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Climb high on stone pillars and glide toward the far end from pillar to pillar to avoid eyeballs. Alternatively, glide between platforms and kill enemies for more points. The Chaos Emerald is on the right part of the beach before the lighthouse.
Section 6: Blue Emerald
Character/Act: Amy in part of White Acropolis
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
In some areas, double jump to higher platforms instead of using springs to avoid eyeballs. At the end, kill all enemies to open a door. Touch the nearby eagle statue before the tunnel leading to the Chaos Emerald, or eyeballs will make it harder. Do not use Invisibility, as Amy will be paralyzed for a few seconds after reappearing, risking being sucked into an eye.
Section 7: Red Emerald
Character/Act: Shadow in part of Kingdom Valley
Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Purple eyeballs complicate normal Kingdom Valley elements like ropes and wind-rails. Wait for the eagle to appear to travel to another area. The most direct route to the Chaos Emerald at the end is recommended for an S-rank.
