After the "Chi-Clad Warrior" node, return and choose to "Stop Aht" for a different result.

STRATEGY: Have Aht lay a Poison Trap behind Gadeff, and Stocke use Push Assault. Use a Magic Herb on Aht. Keep Aht in the back row, using elemental Traps and appropriate Assaults.

Defeating Gadeff wins the tournament and the GOSPEL ARMOR (DEF+33/MDF+23/LUC+20, equip on Stocke).

Optional Tournament Rounds: Rest at the inn, buy 10 Tourniquets, 3 Bishop Studs (equip on Stocke), ensure Stocke has Madre Blade and Aht has Life Robe. Max out both characters' Mana Burst gauges. Talk to Gadeff for the [The Next Foe] sidequest.

STRATEGY: Use two Sleep Wings. If unsuccessful or defeated, reset. Use a Magic Herb on Aht, then use Change until you get 10 consecutive turns. Place two Ice Traps behind Crush Bear, use Push Assault, two Ice Traps below him, Left Assault, and finish with Fire spells.

Winning the fourth round completes [The Next Foe] and awards the PIETI EDGE (ATK+30/MAG+48/SPD-2). Rest, buy up to 30 Holy Waters, and ensure you have a Poison Wing. Talk to Gadeff for the [The Road to Victory] sidequest.

STRATEGY: Rely on Curse and Poison Wings until both are inflicted (indicated by two damage numbers after his attack). If Stocke dies, use Holy Water; if Aht dies, cast Resurrection. Play conservatively until he uses Fear or Speed Break. Attack only when MP is not needed for Resurrection. Attack to win when his HP is depleted.

Winning the final round completes [The Road to Victory] and awards the MOIRAE MANTEAU (DEF+48/MDF+41, equip on Stocke). Equip Stocke with the Pieti Edge. Talk to Gadeff to advance the [Swordsman Recuit] sidequest.

Rest at the inn and return to Cygnus HQ. Talk to the man by the left torch to find your next destination. Enter the prison, then return to break out Eruca. Arrange your party with Raynie and Eruca.

Raynie: Magic Spear, Gospel Armor, Crystal Charm, Thaumatech Orb, Horn Charm

Marco: Madre Blade, Runic Mail, Bishop Stud x3

Aht: Silver Dagger, Life Robe, Bishop Stud x3

Eruca: Solid Slugs, Rune Dress, Horn Charm x3

Extra: Iron Mail

Head south out of the city to find [The Great Menace node].

STRATEGY: Use two Magic Herbs on Raynie and Eruca in the first round. Use Change to string together nine consecutive turns: Raynie (G-Fire), Stocke (Double Slash), G-Fire, Double Slash, G-Fire, Double Slash, Eruca (G-Frost), G-Frost, G-Frost.

After defeating the spider, head south to talk to Garland at [Desert City Messiah node].

Garland makes a decision about Granorg at [A King's Decision node], leading into the next chapter.

After resting, head west to the plaza and find Ricky for the [An Unwanted Reunion] sidequest. Talk to Mimel in the tavern twice. Return to the "Chi-Clad Warrior" node and talk to the bartender. Return to the "Scorching Battlefield" node and talk to Mimel again for a decision.

Choosing to "Capture Mimel" unlocks the [Simmering Fury] ending.

Choosing to "Let Mimel go" advances [An Unwanted Reunion]. Talk to Ricky to complete it.
