Discover the best Outriders: Worldslayer Trickster build combining Anomaly Power and Firepower, requiring the Shieldbeast set and specific mods.
The focus of this build is to look at the combination of Anomaly Power and Firepower builds. This seems to be the best build, thanks to the new Trickster PAX tree, which ramps both your assault weapon damage and Anomaly Power at the same time. It also further improves your shields, granting you extra defensiveness, making it a fairly robust build. The only downside is that its map clearing speeds are not as effective as let say the Seismic Commander or the Heat Seeker meta sets.
However, this build requires the perfect set-up of weapons and mods. If you don’t have it, then the build sadly falls apart. It is important to say you absolutely need the fifth PAX point and the three-piece Shieldbeast set, along with the Anomaly Enhancement tier 2 mod (a community-made modification that changes the game) for your weapons. You’ll also need armor mods like Anomaly Echo and Arms and Anomaly, and Mage’s Rage for your weapons too. All in all, this is a build that requires proper investment and setup, which is a major weakness to it. If you don’t have most of these mods and the armor set, then this build is not worth the damage. Instead, stick to a tried and tested Firepower build until you get the right pieces.
But, when you get the armor set, have a few Anomaly Power buffing mods and weapons with Anomaly Enhancement, you can play the very basic build. It then comes to a matter of time till you get your preferred weapons and set pieces with well-buffed Apocalypse 3rd slot mods, which take it to the next level.
Class and PAX trees
The Class and PAX tree are very much cookie cutter in order to get the most out of the best Outriders: Worldslayer Trickster build. You need to dip into as much Weapon Damage, and Anomaly damage boosts from your Movement and Deception skills as possible. Moreso, taking the assault weapon perk is key as the hybrid build path only works with assault weapons, thanks to the new PAX tree. You can however, change one or two talents around if you’re still low on cooldown reduction, or fancy getting the Scything talent that increases Anomaly Power.
Trickster skills
The Trickster skills you want to use somewhat depend on the playstyle, as you can use either Venator’s Knife and Time Rift. Venator’s Knife has better mod synergy with the Shieldbeast set, along with its mods granting extra survivability with the Trophy mod on the Shieldbeast’s Trousers It also allows you to get to full shield easily for ramping the set’s Anomaly Power bonus quicker. Alternatively, you can run Time RIft, as that allows your to free cast the skill, meaning you can get the shield generation rolling even quicker. It can also be modded to add debuffs and do periodic damage, adding to your map clearing speeds.
We advise not using the Time Rift skill, as it means you will need to mod out Venator’s Knife mods to get it to work. The downside of taking Time Rift is you reduce the amount of Anomaly Power and Firepower buff mods you can use in your build instead, which lowers your damage type conversion potential, as demonstrated in the class and PAX tree sections. However, if you get some great third slot Time Rift options, then feel free to start swapping Venator’s Knife mods out for the Anomaly Power mods. More on this later.
In terms of your rotation, here is the priority of your skill and actions:
- Open with your Deception skill to get ‘Lies, Deception’ PAX talent, which increases your Anomaly Power thanks to the Shieldbeast’s set bonus. It’s easier to do with the Time Warp skill, but Venator’s Knife is still okay.
- Land five critical strikes with your assault weapon and stop firing. If you have Mage Rage, it should be fully stacked by the fourth crit.
- Wait till the Deception skill is back up. If it is already up when you get five crits, go to step 4.
- Press your Deception skill again to continue your shield generation to the max and get your Firepower and Anomaly buffs from the Disruptive Firepower and Countershield class tree perks.
- You must also use your Movement skill to get the additional 50% Anomaly Power buff from the ‘Combat Shield’s Timeline’ perk.
- (Melee if you opted for the Anomaly Scything Talent.)
- Activate Twisted Rounds while you have the maximum amount of Anomaly Power in your temporary buffs.
Anomaly Power seems to snapshot to your Firepower, increasing the maximum Firepower you can have when you activate the Twisted Rounds skill. With the Hunt The Prey skill refreshing your magazine, you can hold on to the full buffed Anomaly Power until you drop the ammo, or enter a new checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death).
- The Trickster build requires the fifth PAX point, the three-piece Shieldbeast set, and the Anomaly Enhancement tier 2 mod for weapons.
- Armor mods like Anomaly Echo and Arms and Anomaly, and Mage’s Rage for weapons are also necessary.
- Venator’s Knife offers better mod synergy with the Shieldbeast set and provides extra shields with the right mod.
- Time Rift can be used for quicker shield generation and can be modded for debuffs and periodic damage.
- Hunt The Prey is necessary to replenish ammo and keep Twisted Rounds active via a key mod.
- Twisted Rounds fills your weapon magazine with anomaly-infused bullets that increase Firepower and lasts until you reload or switch weapons.
- The ‘Lies, Deception’ PAX talent increases Anomaly Power when opening with a Deception skill.
- The ‘Combat Shield’s Timeline’ perk grants an additional 50% Anomaly Power buff when using a Movement skill.
