Explorers Guild

Learn how to increase your standing with the Explorers Guild in No Man's Sky. Discover mission types, envoy interactions, and rank requirements to become a Master Explorer.

The Explorers Guild is one of three guilds in No Man's Sky, alongside the Merchants and Mercenaries. Missions for these guilds can be acquired from a Mission Agent found at space stations. Initially, low standing with the Gek, Vy'keen, and Korvax will result in missions that primarily improve standing with these races. The type of quest received depends on the dominant race of the system you are in; for example, a Gek-dominant system will offer quests that increase standing with the Gek.

Once your rank with a race reaches 2 or higher, Mission Agents will begin offering quests that reward increased standing with guilds. Each agent offers five missions: the first typically relates to the dominant race, while the second, third, and fourth offer low-level quests for each of the three guilds. The fifth mission is a higher-level quest for one of the guilds. Completing missions usually grants +1 standing with a guild, with some higher-level missions offering +2 standing and other rewards. Explorers Guild missions generally involve scanning objects, taking photos, finding missing persons, repairing damaged items, and feeding creatures, though any mission type can potentially reward Explorers Guild standing.

In addition to missions from agents, you can earn Explorers Guild trophies by scanning rare creatures and warping to new systems, which can be tracked in the Milestones menu.

Explorers Guild Envoys

Guild Envoys are located next to Mission Agents on space stations. After reaching Rank 2 (Initiate) with the Explorers Guild, you can speak with envoys to receive gifts, the value of which increases with your guild rank. At Rank 3 (Apprentice), envoys offer missions related to the guild's interests. These are often high-level missions, sometimes with better rewards like +5 standing, and can be completed in bulk with similar quests for more efficient rank progression.
