Rescuing Charles: Inspect files on the whiteboard to find 'The End (5/8) - Robot Puppets'. Interact with the large life support device and then the computer to the right. Read all files on the PC desktop, paying attention to the diagram on the far right for a code. Exit the computer and interact with the chain console control panel on the far left. Adjust the height of the colored lamps to match the diagram by pressing the buttons: purple/orange twice, yellow/green once, and blue twice. This will reveal stairs leading down. Head down into the Secret Corridor. Examine the courier clothes if desired, then enter the doorway at the far left. In the secret room, examine the diary to the right of the doorway. Continue left and inspect the Beta Type Consciousness Transmission Device for 'The End (6/8) - The Research Information of Consciousness Transmission Device'. Speak with Charles, then grab the Crowbar from the far right end of the room. Return to Charles and use the Crowbar on the holding cell door to free him. This action unlocks the 'The Story of Rescuing the White Mustache' Trophy/Achievement.

Decision Time: You will be presented with two questions. The first answer has no impact. The second answer determines which of two Achievements you unlock. You cannot unlock both in a single playthrough without reloading an earlier save file.

Turn it off: Choosing to 'Turn off the equipment' unlocks 'The Liberation' Trophy/Achievement and the 'The End (7/8) - The History Between Edward and Luna' File. You can then skip to 'The Final Confrontation'.

Keep it on: Choosing to 'Leave the equipment on' unlocks 'The Benevolence' Trophy/Achievement. You will not be able to unlock the aforementioned File. You can then skip to 'The Final Confrontation'.

The Final Confrontation: Regardless of your choice, you will need to return to the secret room where Charles was rescued. Head down the stairs when ready.
