This section of the walkthrough covers the 'Uncovering Buried Secrets' chapter in Tales of the Neon Sea. It details the locations of three missable Image & Text Files and three Achievements. Note that two of the Achievements are mutually exclusive and require reloading a save file to obtain both.

Walkthrough

    Rescuing Charles:
    1. Inspect the files on the whiteboard near the entrance to find a File.

    Interact with the large life support device and then the computer. Read all files on the PC, especially the diagram.

    Go to the far left and interact with the chain console control panel.

    Solve the lamp puzzle by adjusting their heights to match the computer diagram: Press the purple/orange button twice, the yellow/green button once, and the blue button twice.

    Descend the newly revealed stairs into a Secret Corridor.

    Enter the doorway at the far left end of the hall into another secret room.

    Inspect the diary to the right of the doorway.

    Head left and inspect the Beta Type Consciousness Transmission Device to find another File.

    Speak with Charles.

    Go to the far right of the room, grab the Crowbar.

    Return to Charles and use the Crowbar on the holding cell door to free him. This unlocks the 'The Story of Rescuing the White Mustache' Trophy/Achievement.
  • Decision Time:
    1. You will be presented with two questions. The first choice has no impact. The second choice determines which of two Achievements you unlock.
    2. To unlock 'The Liberation' Trophy/Achievement and the 'The History Between Edward and Luna' File: Choose to 'Turn off the equipment'. Interact with the life support device.
    3. To unlock 'The Benevolence' Trophy/Achievement: Choose to 'Leave the equipment on'. No further interaction is needed for this choice, but you will miss an endgame File.
    4. Note: You can reload an earlier save file to make the other choice and unlock the alternate Achievement.
  • The Final Confrontation:
    1. Head back down to the secret room where you rescued Charles. There is no turning back after this point.
