Detailed walkthrough for Tales of the Neon Sea's 'Uncovering Buried Secrets' chapter, including finding missable files, making crucial choices, and unlocking achievements.
This section of the walkthrough covers the 'Uncovering Buried Secrets' chapter in Tales of the Neon Sea. It details how to find three missable Image & Text Files and three Achievements. Be aware that two of the Achievements are mutually exclusive and require a save reload to obtain both.
Walkthrough
- 1Rescuing Charles:
- Inspect files on the whiteboard to find 'The End (5/8) - Robot Puppets'.
- 2Interact with the large life support device and then the computer. Read all files on the PC desktop, especially the diagram.
- 3Interact with the chain console control panel. Adjust the colored lamps to match the diagram from the computer: press the purple/orange button twice, the yellow/green button once, and the blue button twice.
- 4Descend the stairs into the Secret Corridor.
- 5In the next secret room, inspect the diary and then the Beta Type Consciousness Transmission Device to find 'The End (6/8) - The Research Information of Consciousness Transmission Device'.
- 6Speak with Charles, then retrieve the Crowbar from the far right of the room.
- 7Use the Crowbar on Charles' holding cell door to free him and unlock the 'The Story of Rescuing the White Mustache' Achievement.
- You will be presented with two questions. The first choice has no impact, but the second choice determines which of two Achievements you unlock.
- Turn it off: Choosing this option unlocks 'The Liberation' Achievement and the 'The End (7/8) - The History Between Edward and Luna' File.
- Keep it on: Choosing this option unlocks 'The Benevolence' Achievement. This choice prevents unlocking one of the endgame Files.
- After your choice, you can skip ahead to 'The Final Confrontation'.
- Head back down to the secret room where you rescued Charles. There is no turning back after this point.
Tips
- Remember that the Image & Text Files and two of the Achievements are missable.
- Reloading an earlier save file is necessary to unlock both mutually exclusive Achievements.
- The diagram found on the computer is crucial for solving the chain console puzzle.
