    From the Landing Site in Tallon Overworld, head right of your ship's bow, hop up ledges, and go through the door.

    In Canyon Cavern, blast the two Beetles that emerge from the sand.

    Continue through Tallon Canyon, blasting Beetles at ground level. Ignore upper areas for now.

    Proceed through Transport Tunnel A, dealing with Zoomers and Sap Sacs.

    Scan the console in Transport to Chozo Ruins West to activate the lift and travel to the Ruins.

    In Totem Hive, approach the pedestal to face the Hive Mecha and Ram War Wasps. Scan the Ram War Wasps and wait for them to stop before shooting. Scan the Hive Mecha (scan point is below the target) and shoot the three red lights that appear after dealing with the wasps.

    After defeating the Hive Mecha, you will obtain the MISSILE LAUNCHER. Use a Missile to open the Blast Shield on the far door.

    In Transport Access North, collect your first ENERGY TANK (1/14) and any additional Missile ammo from crates.

    Backtrack to Ruined Gallery and use a Missile to break the weak wall near the floor in the poisoned water to find a MISSILE EXPANSION (1/49). Blast open the Blast Shield to access the map of the Ruins.

    Return to Main Plaza and blast open the Blast Shield on ground level to the right, near the direction of the Ruins Entrance.

    Pass through Ruined Shrine Access, minding the Scarabs.

    In Ruined Shrine, defeat approximately twenty Beetles and one Plated Beetle. To kill the Plated Beetle, Lock-On, dodge its charge by sidestepping twice when it roars, and fire Missiles at its rear.

  • Scan all new creatures and objects to gather information and progress.
  • The minimap (HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)) can help you orient yourself within larger areas.
  • Save your progress frequently at Save Stations.
  • Be patient when targeting Ram War Wasps as they circle.
  • Dodge the Plated Beetle's charge by watching its pattern: sidestep once, sidestep twice, then dodge on the roar.
