A Testing Proposition

Where: Slaughterhouse area in Yusnaan. What: Speak to Alchemist Velno. She's in the shop just to the left of the Slaughterhouse entrance. What to do: Velno will ask you to test a concoction in battle. Before you can start, make sure you have at least one recovery item slot free. If you don't, you'll need to sell or discard an item to make space. Once you've got a free slot, talk to her again to accept the quest.

Where: Anywhere in battle. What: You've just received the Nektar. The goal is to use it when Lightning is suffering from at least one status ailment. It's a good idea to switch to a schema that doesn't have any built-in resistance to ailments, just to make things easier. What to do: Get hit by an enemy to inflict a status ailment (like Poison, Slow, etc.). Once Lightning is afflicted, open your item menu and use the Nektar. Why this way: Using it without an ailment won't count towards the quest objective.

Where: Luxerion or Dead Dunes (to get poisoned). What: Velno wants you to test the Nektar Mk II, specifically when Lightning is poisoned. A great way to get poisoned is by fighting a Gorgonopsid. They have an attack called Virulent Breath that will poison you. What to do: Find a Gorgonopsid, let it hit you with Virulent Breath to get poisoned, then immediately use the Nektar Mk II. After you've done that, head back to Velno. Why this way: You need to be poisoned for this test to count.

Where: Anywhere in battle (ideally against enemies that inflict multiple ailments). What: The next potion to test is the Mirakle Nektar, and this time you need to be afflicted with *three or more* status ailments. This can be a bit tricky! Enemies like Meonektons, Triffids, Chocobo Eaters, and Earth Eaters are good candidates because they can inflict multiple ailments quickly. What to do: Find one of these enemies, let them pile on at least three status ailments onto Lightning, and then use the Mirakle Nektar. Remember, you also need to finish the battle after using the potion. Once that's done, return to Velno. Why this way: You absolutely need three or more ailments for this step to register.

Where: The Slaughterhouse. What: The final test involves the Nektar of the Gods. You need to use it in front of a crowd during a battle in the Slaughterhouse. What to do: Enter the Slaughterhouse and engage in a battle. At any point during the fight, use the Nektar of the Gods. After the battle, speak to Velno one last time. Why this way: This is the final step to completing the quest and earning your rewards.
