Complete the Murals of the Gods in lightning returns final fantasy xiii. Defeat the Harbinger of Death and find all Tablets and Crux pieces.
Walkthrough
- 1At the entrance, pick up Bhakti’s Oil and a Pretty Orb. Use a Pilgrim’s Crux on the Crux door and proceed to the end to collect a Tablet. Use the Stone to teleport to the Dry Floodlands Shrine for the last Tablet.
- 2In the same room as the Crux door, collect the Pain Dampener and more Bhakti’s Oil. Use another Pilgrim’s Crux on the door and go to the end to find the final Tablet. Fight your way out and use the Stone to return to the Sacred Gate.
- 3Head for the gallery marked by the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) and examine it to view the first mural. After the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically), pick up the Crux Body.
- 4Return to the red door in the Sacred Grove and go through it to the Walk of Peace.
- 5Run down the corridor until you reach a path guarded by a Gurangatch. Defeat it to unblock the path and proceed to the end to find a Collector Catalog.
- 6Jump down into the chamber, avoiding the hole below, and collect another Pilgrim’s Crux. Climb the ladder and jump down through the hole in the next area. Collect the Cursed Band in the center of the room.
- 7Climb back up the ladder and head south. Turn left to find another Pilgrim’s Crux. Drop into the chamber below and grab the Thorn of Speed.
- 8Head west and activate a Cactuar Stone to create a teleport spot for the Golden Chamber.
- 9In the south room, prepare for the Earth Eater. Equip Dangerous Blossom and add Poison Level 2 and Deprotect Level 2, along with the locked Defaith and Debrave abilities. Equip the Guard’s Cravat or an accessory that resists status ailments for your defensive schema. Equip Dame du Lac and a strong weapon like the Demon’s Mace or Shard Blade. Ensure you have full EP. Your other two schemas should be offensive, like Dragon’s Blood and Midnight Mauve.
- 10To defeat the Earth Eater, stagger it using wind-type abilities like Aerora and Galestrike. Once staggered, cast debuffs (especially Poison) and attack offensively, using Overclock if needed. Guard immediately when it uses “I Don’t Feel So Good” to avoid status ailments, or use Esunada or a Remedy. Focus on staggering it quickly to remove its buffs and inflict status ailments. Keep Poison active and chip away at its HP.
- 11Through the door the Earth Eater guarded, find another Pilgrim’s Crux. Drop down the long corridor to reach the Scorched Earth: Lower Level.
- 12Through the northwest door (odd hours), find an EP treasure containing the Dawn Gauntlets (6 EP). Return later if you don’t have enough EP.
- 13Go through the southeastern door and head north to reach a red switch. Press it to open the nearby door.
- 14Go up the ladder and head west to a room with torches. Collect the Golden Scarab and talk to Nolan to start the quest “What Rough Beast Slouches.” This quest cannot be completed for some time as Aeronite is a very strong monster. Before leaving, jump up the crates to find a Sparrow Comb.
- 15Jump out of the treasure room and head west for another Pilgrim’s Crux. In the north of this room, a Crux door leads to a Stone with the teleport location South Gate.
- 16Turn back and take the southeast exit to the Path of the Dead. Smash the skeleton statues.
- 17At the bottom, take the right path (Path of Confinement) to reach the Gallery of Creation. Place the tablet to view another mural. The sealed door near the Sacred Gate has now opened. Pick up the Crux Tip.
- 18Return to the South Gate Cactuar Stone and teleport to the Sacred Gate. Go through the newly opened passage.
- 19Run down the Headless Pass to the Gallery of Forgetfulness. View the final mural and pick up the Crux Base. The Crux can now be completed to form the Saint’s Crux, which opens the Sacred Gate. Do not open the door yet to avoid losing Fang as a party member.
- 20Spend any remaining time collecting skulls and missed items. At 6am, you will return to the Ark and receive 5 Bronze Malistones. Restock items with EP if needed and warp to the Wildlands.

- The Harbinger of Death is your first Last One.
- Don't forget to collect the Sparrow Comb by jumping on the crates before leaving the area where you start “What Rough Beast Slouches.”
