Follow our guide to complete A Father's Request side quest in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Find Forest Fertilizer, talk to the Wandering Man, and help Sarana.
Alright, so you've got a request from a young lady named Sarana, who needs you to track down some Forest Fertilizer her dad was collecting. This quest is a good one to knock out while you're already exploring the Jagd Woods for other things, so let's get it done efficiently.
Walkthrough
- 1First things first, you'll need to start the 'Saving An Angel' quest. Once that's going, you can either feed a chocobo some Gysahl Greens or restore its health. Sarana will be around Canopus Farms from 7 AM to 9 PM, so make sure you catch her during those hours.
- 2Sarana will ask you to find the Forest Fertilizer her father was collecting. You can find up to six of these scattered around Jagd Woods, but you only really need to grab four. This will give you access to the maximum number of vegetable plots for growing more Gysahl Greens later.
- 3The fertilizer is marked by a spade and earth mound icon on your map. Don't stress too much about going out of your way for these; many are on the paths to other objectives anyway. Just keep an eye out as you explore Jagd Woods.
- 4Once you've collected at least four, look for a stylish Wandering Man wearing bright pink glasses. He's usually near the path leading into the woods. Talk to him about Cole, Sarana's father. He'll fill you in on what happened to him.
- 5After getting the details from the Wandering Man, head back to Sarana. Explain what you learned about her father.
- 6As a reward, Sarana will give you some Vegetable Seed. You can use these to plant your own Gysahl Greens in the plots you've unlocked.
Tips
- Try to combine this quest with others in the area to save time and maximize your efficiency.
- Keep an eye on the map for the spade and earth mound icons – they'll lead you right to the fertilizer.
