Combat Simulation Tutorial
Learn the basics of movement, attacking, and pushing in Into the Breach's Combat Simulation Tutorial. Master mechs and Vek tactics to protect the grid.
The Combat Simulation Tutorial is only available when starting a new Profile and cannot be restarted. It teaches the basics of moving, attacking, pushing, and how the Combat Mech, Cannon Mech, and Artillery Mech operate. This is a walkthrough for the tutorial, as the simulation is randomized after deploying the Artillery Mech.
- 1This is the starting position with a Firefly in C5 and the Combat Mech in D7. Prevent the Firefly from attacking the Grid Building in A5.
- 2Move the Combat Mech to C6 to punch the Firefly (2 damage), pushing it to C4.
- 3A Leaper has spawned and will attack the Building in H2. The Cannon Mech is deployed in position F8.
- 4Move the Cannon Mech to G7 to attack and push the Leaper from G2 to G1. Move the Combat Mech to C5 and kill the Firefly.
- 5Deploy the Artillery Mech as more Vek spawn. Use it to fire on the Hornet in D3, pushing the Fireflies in C3 and D2 into the water.
- 6After the Artillery Mech is deployed, the scenario is as follows: The Hornet in D6 is low priority as its attack can be avoided. The Firefly in G2 is easily pushed out of the way, preventing an attack on the building in H2. The Combat Mech in D3 is under attack from two Vek, but there's an easy solution: The Combat Mech attacks C3, killing the Hornet. Move the Artillery Mech to the E column and fire on E2, pushing the Firefly in D2 into the water.
- 7Only the Hornet in C7 and the Firefly in F2 remain. Both Vek can be killed in a single turn. Move the Combat Mech to F3 and kill the Firefly in F2.
- 8The Combat Mech is out of range of the Firefly (2 Health). The Artillery is too close to attack immediately.
- 9Move the Artillery Mech to G7. Move the Cannon Mech to F7. The Combat Mech and Artillery Mech can attack in either order to kill the Hornet.
