Into the Breach features 55 Achievements, divided into 25 Global Achievements and 3 Achievements for each of the 10 Primary Squads. Completing an Achievement awards 1 Coin, which is used to unlock additional Squads. Squads can be unlocked in any order. The cost in Coins for specific squads are: Rusting Hulks (2 Coins), Zenith Guard and Blitzkrieg (3 Coins), Steel Judoka and Flame Behemoths (5 Coins), and Frozen Titans and Hazardous Mechs (6 Coins).

Game length is determined by the number of islands secured before destroying the Volcanic Hive. Shorter games offer less time to gain XP and gather resources like Reactor Cores, Pilots, and Weapons, making them harder.

Global - Victories Achievements

  • Victory - Beat the game (any length).
  • Hard Victory - Beat the game on Hard (any length).
  • Adaptable Victory - Beat the game at least once per length (2, 3, & 4 Islands secured).
  • Squads Victory - Beat the game with 4 different Squads (any length).
  • Complete Victory - Beat the game with all 10 primary Squads (any length).

Global - Metagame Achievements

These achievements often require multiple timelines due to their cumulative nature. Reputation (stars) are earned for completing missions, with 0-2 Reputation per mission and a maximum of 5 missions per Island. Typically, 8-10 Reputation is gained per Island if all missions are completed. Expect to play 2-3 timelines for 50 Reputation. Civilians in buildings grant rewards; destroying buildings kills civilians. Maximum civilians saved per mission: 500 on Easy (200 missions minimum), 1,000 on Normal (100 missions), and 1,500 on Hard (67 missions). Mechs or Veks can block emerging Veks, with more appearing on harder difficulties. A Perfect Island means all mission objectives are completed and all Time Pods are recovered.

  • Emerging Technologies - Unlock a new Mech Squad.
  • Friends in High Places - Spend 50 Reputation across all games.
  • Immovable Objects - Block 100 Vek across all games.
  • Humanity's Savior - Rescue 100,000 civilians across all games.
  • Perfect Strategy - Collect 10 Perfect Island rewards across all games.

Global - Island Challenges

A Perfect Island is one where all mission objectives are completed and all Time Pods are recovered. Grid Power can be earned or bought. Achieving 9 or more Reputation per island depends on mission availability, with the 5th mission always awarding 2 Reputation.

  • Perfect Island - Do not fail any objective on a single Corporate Island.
  • The Defenders - Finish a Corporate Island without taking Building Damage.
  • Untouchable - Finish a Corporate Island without taking Mech Damage (Repaired damage still counts).
  • Backup Batteries - Earn or buy 10 Grid Power on a single Corporate Island.
  • Good Samaritan - Earn 9 Reputation from missions on a single Corporate Island.

Global - Pilot Challenges

Pilots gain a level after earning 25 XP and 50 XP. Cyborg Pilots revive themselves using XP. 1 XP equals 1 HP of a destroyed Vek. XP carries over to the next timeline for the Last Traveler; other Pilots reset to 0 XP. Pilots are often unlocked by recovering Time Pods. Getting to the final battle is not required for the
