Geirdriful

Geirdriful is the latest Valkyrie you'll face. Learn her moves, how to counter her deadliest attacks, and the best strategy to defeat her in God of War (2018).

Hey there! So, you've made it to Geirdriful, huh? If you've already taken down her sister Rota, you'll find this fight a little familiar. Geirdriful shares a lot of the same moves, but she's thrown in a couple of new tricks to keep you on your toes.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Geirdriful uses many of Rota's Wing and Scythe combos, so you should be familiar with defending against them.
• Her most dangerous attack is a red-ringed Shockwave she unleashes after rising into the air.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Geirdriful will start with her standard Wing and Scythe attacks. These are predictable and can be parried or dodged.
2. Phase 2: She'll begin using her signature Shockwave attack. When she leaps into the air with a red ring, you have a brief window to react.
3. Phase 3: After the Shockwave, she becomes more aggressive, mixing in rapid combos and repositioning quickly.

Strategy:

• When Geirdriful leaps into the air and a red ring appears, quickly shoot her with an arrow to stun her out of the Shockwave. If you miss, immediately look away from her to avoid being blinded. Being blinded makes it incredibly difficult to track her movements.
• If you do get blinded, don't panic. Keep moving and try to anticipate her next attack. She's quite mobile, so you'll need to rely on sound cues and your defensive instincts.
• Remember to use your runic attacks when you have an opening, especially after she finishes a combo.
• Don't forget to parry! Many of her scythe attacks can be parried, opening her up for a few hits.
• Stay focused and keep the pressure on. Like most Valkyries, she can be overwhelmed with consistent offense and well-timed dodges and parries.
