Muspelheim is a unique realm in God of War (2018) where progression is achieved by completing a series of combat challenges across five different arenas as you ascend the volcano. The primary objective involves defeating enemies in these trials. After completing the main objective, you will face a Valkyrie, followed by five additional "Impossible Trials" that unlock the final challenge of Muspelheim, rewarding you with a Trophy and the opportunity to repeat it for valuable resources.

The Favors manifest as Trials, with one for each difficulty (Normal, Hard, and Impossible) across the five arenas. It's recommended to tackle Muspelheim later in the game, as enemy levels increase with each subsequent trial. If you arrive early, be cautious, as enemies become significantly tougher in later trials.

On your way to the first Trial, climb to the right to find a coffin containing useful resources.

Trial I: Normal, Time Attack

Objective: Kill 15 enemies before the 03:00 time limit.

You have 3 minutes to defeat all the Draugrs that spawn. Utilize the cliffs to your advantage by knocking enemies over the side to save time. The Blessing of the Frost runic attack is effective against these enemies. These Draugrs are a warm-up for later trials. Use your Runics if surrounded and avoid getting too greedy with attacks, especially against Heavy Draugrs. All trials reward a Legendary Chest upon completion, containing rare resources for Muspelheim items and other high-end armor upgrades. Return to the sword after looting to begin the Hard version.

Trial I: Hard, Resurrection

Objective: Kill enemies in quick succession.

This trial requires defeating enemies quickly to prevent them from reviving. The "Death Defiers Alive" indicator shows how many enemies are left in the current wave. There is no time limit, allowing you to plan your actions. At higher levels, taking out enemies quickly should be manageable. At lower levels, focus on larger enemies first. The first wave includes a Speed Draugr, a Projectile Draugr, and a Heavy Draugr; weaken the Heavy first. The second wave features an Ogre and a Poison Revenant; stun the Ogre, mount it, and use it to defeat the Revenant before finishing the Ogre. The final wave consists of a Tatzelwurm and three Rabid Wolves; focus on the Tatzelwurm first, using Runic Summons for the Wolves. The Blades of Chaos Heavy Runic Attack, Prometheus Flame, is excellent for this wave. A gate will open, allowing progression. Activate the Mystic Gateway along the way.

Trial II: Normal, Survival

Objective: Survive for 5 minutes.

The goal is to survive an onslaught of enemies. Prioritize your health and avoid being overly aggressive. The Revenant is a primary concern due to its health-draining attacks; take it down as soon as it spawns. Utilize axe throws from a distance with Atreus' arrows. Lava will spread across the area, so watch your step and use it to your advantage by knocking enemies into it. If your health drops low, use Spartan Rage to heal yourself.

Trial II: Hard, Stunner

Objective: Enemies quickly regenerate health.

This trial is easier than it appears. Enemies can only be defeated using Stun Grabs due to their rapid health regeneration. Knocking enemies off ledges also counts as a kill and is often the most effective method. Atreus with maxed Shock Arrows can assist. You will face five waves.
