Alright, let's track down this 'Historian' treasure map in God of War. It's one of those collectibles that seems a bit tricky, but we'll get it sorted. You're actually going to grab the map itself before you even deal with the big bad guarding it, which is pretty neat.

Map Location

First things first, you need to get the map. Head over to the Lake of Nine. You'll want to go to the northwest area, where you'll find the Ruins of the Ancient. Now, this part is important: you need to wait until the water level has dropped twice. This opens up more of the area.

As you approach the beach near the Ruins of the Ancient, you'll see a nasty creature called a Soul Devourer. Don't worry too much about it for now – it won't attack unless you aggro it first. The Treasure Map itself is chilling on the beach, just to the right of a Legendary Chest. Snag the map, and you're one step closer.

Treasure Location

With the map in hand, it's time to find the actual treasure. You'll need to make your way west from the Lake of Nine to Fáfnir's Storeroom. Once you're there, head into the clearing just past Sindri's Shop. Clear out any enemies hanging around – you don't want any surprises when you're digging.

Now, look for a sealed entrance. It's usually to the left of a waterfall. Right in front of the left brazier near this entrance is your dig spot. Get to digging, and you'll unearth the treasure associated with 'The Historian' map!
