Learn how to best utilize Support Personnel (SP) in Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Understand SPP, how to earn it, and the risks involved in losing your hard-earned points.

Hey there! So, you're diving into Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and wondering about these 'Support Personnel,' or SP for short? Think of them as little AI buddies who can jump into your missions and help you out. Right before you start any mission, you'll get a prompt asking if you want their help. It's totally up to you!

If you decide to bring them along, you'll notice that sometimes, your own party members might get swapped out for these shadowy figures that look like your characters. Don't worry, that's just the SP stepping in!

Most of these SP are named after the awesome folks who worked on the game, which is a cool little nod. But there are three special ones you should keep an eye out for: Kurasame, his Tonberry buddy, and Joker. Kurasame and the Tonberry just show up randomly, but Joker is a bit more involved. To get him to appear, you'll need to hit Nimbus a whopping 30 times during the 'Operation MA Demolition' mission. So, keep that in mind!

Now, let's talk about what they do for you. As these SP help out, they'll slowly rack up points called Support Personnel Points, or SPP. They earn these by doing things like taking down enemies or even healing your characters. These SPP are super useful! You can spend them at a special shop in Central Command back at Akademeia to buy items, or sometimes you'll even get temporary items just for hitting certain SPP milestones.

Warning: Losing Your SPP

Here's a crucial bit of info about those SPP you're earning: you only get to keep the points if the SP leaves the battlefield on their own. This usually happens when they've been out there for a while or when you reach a safe zone with a save point or recovery portal. If one of your SP gets defeated in battle, poof! All the SPP they've accumulated up to that point are lost. So, try your best to keep them safe and make sure they get back to a safe zone!
