South Lake

Your guide to South Lake in Eternal Strands! Learn how to handle tough enemies, find key items like the Jezail and Club Clover, and make the best trades with the goatherd.

Alright, so you've made it to South Lake in Eternal Strands. This area can be a bit tricky because there are some seriously strong enemies hanging around. The most important thing here is to keep your party's levels as even as possible. You've got four characters to choose from, but only three can be in your active party at any time. Make sure you're swapping them out regularly so everyone stays roughly the same level. Trust me, it'll save you a headache later on.

Start by heading left along the slope and keep moving forward. You'll eventually spot a chest that's being guarded by a tough enemy called an Earth Shaker. Take him down – he's not too bad once you get the hang of it – and then open the chest. Inside, you'll find a Jezail. This is a great weapon, so give it to Beat right away. Keep pushing forward after that.

Up ahead, you'll run into a goatherd. Chat with him and give him your Long Johns. In return, he'll give you some Goat's Milk. Honestly, I'm not totally sure if that was a fair trade, but it's what he's offering!

For your second playthrough: If you've already done this once, you can give the goatherd your Goat's Milk instead. He'll then give you a nice Coupon, which is definitely worth snagging if you're going for a completionist run.

After dealing with the goatherd, continue on towards the lake itself. It's quite a sight! Once you're by the water, head to the left side of the coast. Look for a light patch of soil right in front of a rock. If you inspect it, you'll find a Club Clover. There isn't much else to do right at the lake, so turn right and read the signpost. It'll tell you there's a detour coming up. Sounds like a plan, let's head that way!

For your second playthrough: If you're on a subsequent run, head onto the dock that overlooks the lake. You'll find an NPC named Twilight Juju there. He's willing to perform with you, which is a neat little bonus for returning players.
