Learn how to defeat the tough boss Moostapha in Dragon Quest VII's Nottagen Scenario. Get tips on his attacks and how to buff your party to survive.
Alright, so you've made it to the Nottagen Scenario and it's time to face a pretty tough boss: Moostapha. This guy hits like a truck, and I mean it! He can even one-shot some of your characters if they're not prepared, so listen up.
Walkthrough
- 1Boss Fight - Moostapha: This boss is all about physical attacks. His normal hit can deal around 60+ damage, and he has a desperation attack that can get up to 100 damage or more! He can also stomp on a single character for similar damage. The good news is that all his attacks target just one person, so if you keep your health up and your defense boosted, you should be okay. Definitely use Buff or Kabuff on everyone as soon as you can. Keep an eye on your HP and heal up whenever it drops low.
- 2After the Fight: Once you've finally taken down that big moose-thing, head over to the drawer that he was guarding. Inside, you'll find the Sulkk Key. Grab it!
- 3Heading West: As you leave the building, the owner will barge in. Don't worry about that too much right now. When you get outside, you'll hear a huge roar. It's a good idea to heal up your party and save your game here. Then, it's time to set off for the tower located in the west.
- 4Tower Prep: Before you actually enter the tower, take a moment to explore the western side of it on the overworld map. You'll find a chest hiding there that contains a pretty nice item: the Bottlenose Buckler. Make sure you grab that before heading into the tower!

- Moostapha's attacks are purely physical, so defense buffs are your best friend.
- Keep your healing items stocked and don't hesitate to use them.
- Don't forget to grab the Bottlenose Buckler on the west side of the tower before entering!
