Roots of Ygg

You'll face the Fighting Batboon as a boss. This guy is a physical attacker who uses Oomph to double his attack power. It's a good idea to cast Buff on your whole party to counter this.

He often follows up Oomph with Fists of Fury, which hits your party four times randomly. Try to have a couple of characters who can heal, ideally with Midheal, so make sure someone's a Priest if you can!

His normal attack also hits hard, but it's a single hit, which is preferable to the multi-hit Fists of Fury.

Keep a close eye on your party's HP. If you have a turn where you don't need much healing, use Sap on the Fighting Batboon to lower his defense and let your other characters deal more damage.

Once the boss is defeated and the town is saved, chat with everyone. To progress, you'll need to speak with the mayor in his house. Agree to stay the night.

The next morning, the mayor will tell you that the girl at the Ygg tree wants to see you. Before you leave, visit the item shop and talk to the farmer nearby. He'll give you a Red Fragment.

Exit the village and head to the Ygg tree. Speak with the girl there. She'll explain the tree's future as Yggdrasil and give you a Staff of Salvation. This staff acts like the Salvation Stone but is stronger, essentially a free Midheal in battle.

With everything done here, return to the portal and head back to the present.
