You'll encounter some Lycanthrope Hunters at the bottom of the path. They're pretty weak, especially if you can get the drop on them. Your best bet is to dodge their wild swings by rolling right through them, then get in a few hits before they can recover.

Keep an eye out, because there are more enemies further down. It's best to pull them out one by one so you don't get overwhelmed. Follow the water to your right, and you'll find a Titanite Shard. Grab it – these are always useful!

After you've dealt with the hunters and snagged that shard, head around the corner. You'll find another Titanite Shard waiting for you.

Now, make your way back up the hill and look for a plateau you can drop down onto. There's another drop to a second plateau, where you'll find a Soul of an Unknown Traveler. Snag that, then drop down to the ground level.

Straight ahead, you'll see three Poisonhorn Bugs. They're not much of a threat, but be aware of a Lycanthrope lurking behind them.

Once those mushroom-looking bugs are out of the way, walk forward. You'll spot what looks like a cross lying sideways on the ground. Surprise! It's actually attached to the back of another Lycanthrope. If you can sneak up on it, start the fight with a heavy attack. Just be ready to back off after a few hits to let it attack first, so you can set up a counter. These Lycanthropes are pretty fast and erratic, so stay on your toes.
