The Tec-9 serves as the Terrorists' (T) counterpart to the Five-SeveN, offering a greater ammunition reserve and a higher rate of fire, though it comes with slightly reduced recoil control. If you are a T player deciding between the Dual Barettas and the Tec-9, the Tec-9 is generally the superior choice. Similar to the Five-SeveN, the Tec-9 can eliminate most enemies with a single headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill). Its substantial clip size helps minimize downtime spent reloading, which is marginally longer than for most other pistols.

Valve has implemented a patch to the Tec-9 to improve its recoil management, making it a more viable option for T-side economy rounds than it was previously.
